  1. I emailed CRL to find out about fitment in OEM locations and apparently got a very rude individual that would not answer any questions that I had and kept refering me to a dealer that stocked the product. Kinda disapointing, hopefully a fluke. Anyway, the people that have the CRL windows installed did any of you have an OEM window replaced with a CRL window, and how did they fit?
  2. I have the same problem, at first they said "there was no problem" but now it is getting worse. Going to talk to the dealer next oil change.
  3. I personaly hate the DRL's on my van, if you do too it's very easy to turn them off. Under the hood, locate the fuse panels on the passenger side, open the one closest to the firewall (main fuse panel) and pull out the tray of fuses (there are tabs on either side and lift it up and out), locate the DRL fuse (F3, DTRL RELAY PWR), pull it out and no more DRL's and no warning lights on the dash.
  4. I would also recommend the NV for families. I have three kids and dogs that I haul around as well as my TT that weighs about 8500lbs. I chose the NV because of the space, amenities, cost, and safety.
  5. I have a Quigley NV with the optional 2 inch lift. I was told by Quigley that the lift brings the van to the same height as the Chevy Vans w/o a lift. Of course you can get a lift for the Chevy also, and if you are going to really do some wheeling the Ford will get you a Solid Front Axle. As far as the clearance the Quigley with the lift is the same or greater than my F150. That being said you can always increase the clearance with tire size. The Quigley with the lift is of course going to fit a taller tire than w/o a lift, but as far as width the NV itself is limited because of the sliding door. I believe Quigley told me 285 (11.2 inches) is the width limit with the sliding door working correctly. I have driven on two tracks and a limited amount of purly off road situations with no problems. I have been very happy with this van so far.
  6. I have a Quigley 4x4 Conversion NV that has the optional 2 inch lift, I know that they put blocks out back but I'll have to check the front for you. I am pretty sure that when it was converted they used titan front spindles, don't quote me on that but I am pretty sure. The traction control acts like a limited slip, using the brake to slow the wheel without traction sending torque to the one that needs it. Not a locker but more than nothing. I guess I would have to research what axle was used to be sure you could get a locker for the correct application, if you find out let us know!
  7. I mounted mine in the cubby below the radio/nav unit. I put it there so that I could reach it in an emergency and it was level with all the other controls so I can watch what its doing.
  8. I believe they added 4x4 front spindles, front IFS axle, transfer case, new driveshafts front and rear, 4x4 control lever and light, and I ordered a 2 inch lift with mine.
  9. It sounds steep but to get a 3/4 Suburban with the same options (nav, tow, heated leather seats) it comes out to about 57,500 vs 50,500 for the NV. Not a bad deal if you need the cargo room, seating, and the towing capabilities all at the same time. It seemed to me that you were always choosing what not to bring (people, pets, cargo, weight of the trailer) with the Suburban.
  10. Sorry for the late replys, I have been out of town. No, I thought i was going to have to. But when I put the load (8500lbs) of the trailer on the van without the weight distribution hitch on it barely moved (that is compared to my F150 with an GAWR rear of 3800), so I tried without airbags and with the WD hitch for a couple trips and it has worked out great. My F150 would squat a lot w/o the WD hitch and with the WD hitch the ride was very squishy and bouncy, so I installed airbags to stiffen up the rear suspension. So far the NV has felt great towing and I don't feel the need to install airbags. Truthfully I don't know, I bought the van new with the conversion already done, so as far as comparing non 4x4 to 4x4 i don't have any idea. I don't hear anything related to the conversion making noise so I am assuming that the noise in the cabin is the same. Miliage I get about 14-16 going back and forth to work, mostly highway, if I get stuck dropping kids off and picking them up about 12, mostly city, and If I am towing my TT (8500lbs) I get about 8-9.
  11. I have a 3500 NVP V8 SL with tow/nav and I pull a 2012 Outback 301BQ that weighs 7130 dry and I figure it's about 8500 loaded. I have an Equalizer hitch and use a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller that I installed in the cubby below the radio. I really like how this thing pulls, it's almost as strong as my 2011 F150 Ecoboost but more stable even though it has a shorter wheelbase. I have been on a few short trips (400-600 round trip) and will be going on a longer trip in July. I tow in "Tow Mode" and in 4th gear at 65MPH (trailer tire limited) and it sits at about 2250 rpm. I get 8.5-9 mpgs towing, not bad as my F150 got 7.5-8.
  12. I just looked at the website, I like the idea of adding vents to the windows, I sent them an email to see if the OEM windows could be replaced by one of their units. Do you have any pictures of the install?
  13. Just go to an AutoZone, O'Reily's, or similar, they usually read the codes for free. Its a lot easier than doing the old school paperclip trick.
  14. Ichance, where did you find the subwoofer enclosure? Was it a NV specific part or just a generic enclosure? It's been hard to find aftermarket parts for this thing, thanks.
