  1. Hola friends! After searching the archives it seems that I either have found a portal to the twilight zone or have an issue that only I have been blessed with.. here goes, few months back on a long road trip rear heater stopped functioning. Checked doors they worked fine. didn’t think about the water valve b/c shortly there after the rear motor went. When we got back I replaced it and was not concerned about the heat since we live in FL. Earlier this year the actuator for floor vs roof vents started glitching. It would switch from floor to roof on its own, almost seemed like a short however I could still temporarily control it from the dial upfront but it would not keep position and continue to glitch. The wires seem to be ok, meaning no shorts found yet. The dial has started go on the fritz now and I can only control the actuators intermittently. I’m thinking the controller has gone from bad to worse over time however these type parts don’t normally deteriorate slowly… or do they?… wanted to get some feedback, thoughts, good (clean) jokes. Any/all contributions are accepted. thank you
  2. Update: I installed the stock bulbs and with the fuse (F3) in or out the DRLs are still on. Searched through posts and have not found any wiring schematics for the lighting on these, Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I will be searching for the short in the weeks to come. thank you
  3. Hola Fellas and Fellettes, Quick backstory After pulling out what little hair my kids hadn't caused to fall out trying to figure out how to install titan headlights on my rig and then realizing that it would be a waste of money I decided to go the LED route. Purchased some Torch beams* and they worked fine (DRL fuse removed) until one day I parked slightly further from the garage door than I normally do and realized I was getting a flicker with the headlights off. This was especially strange b/c it is only on the passenger side of the vehicle. Checked the fuse... YUP still out. Checked for voltage and am really confused as i am not getting a reading on the connector (bulb out(I should however plug the bulb in and test again now that i think of it)) So I did the next logical thing.. I decided the LEDs were bad RMA'd them gave a horrible review and bought a set of sealights. Whatdayaknow (yes its one word to me) it did nothing, same issue (torchbeam review updated with apology). I then reached out to sealight and they sent decoders which got super hot and burned me, so I tossed all that in the garbagio. Sealight was kind enough to reimburse me for the new set of lights and let me keep them (probably b/c they thought they were fried at this point). Soooo i'm driven down the road with what I feel may resemble that of Deebo (friday the movie) RIP (One mean muggin half blind (fact:TL jr was half blind since birth) road bully) I digress> I plan to reinstall the stock bulbs and fuse to see if everything is working as it should. figured I'd throw this one out there to see if its just me or maybe just point something out that you will never be able to unsee and drive you crazy from now until forever or at least until someone figures out what is going on.. A statement then a question: From what I have read in a recent thread is that the DRL fuse allows the headlamp circuitry to run in series thus reducing the voltage to produce the beautiful "dead battery in my kids camping flashlight that I paid $0.32 for, pre-2020 >>>>of course" look Anyone ever take a close look at what their LEDs are doing when the lights are in the off position and the DRL fuse has been removed?
  4. Ok, ok Crusty had a point... Not easy but here is what I found Fenders are within a few inches in both length and width- conclusion body work needed Headlight shape isn't far off however the height of the headlight from top to bottom is much larger on the latest Titan models -body work needed estimate, with used parts of course, $2.8k. which is a bit out of my range currently but more than reasonable for a one of a kind look. why stop there though.. if the front end was to be modified in such a way, how could I gain access to the various front bumper options the Titan has available... I was told that not including the price of the bumper (most of which are north of $2k) another $1k would cover that level of customization for the bumper mounts and fitment. This does however come with a disclaimer* they are not sure what things may arise while in there that could cause additional costs (less than $1k) not to mention the amount of time I would be without a people mover would be close to a month or so. I knw this is vague to say the least however I cannot be more specific until they start working, if ever. I am still very interested and if I had another large vehicle this may become my 2023 project. guess we'll see. PS. the retrofit headlights will run about $1200 and that is just too much considering the body shop estimate.
  5. based on the research i have done thus far the dimensions are close from fender to fender. Modifications will have to be made however I am not yet sure the extent of those modifications as we don't have the fenders in hand to compare. I am following another lead involving a local headlight retrofitting company. I expect the next phase of my research may take weeks to months. If there is any interest from anyone to look into a bulk purchase of LED or HID retrofit Nissan NV headlights, this may be another way to go.. thoughts?
  6. Crusty, a little faith goes a long way.. lol or at least that’s the hope (pun intended) I hear ya though, it will not be easy but truth is most that own these vans aren’t tuners and although many fabricate that normally shows up in the way of accessories. I am thinking most haven’t taken the time to look. I am mostly interested in the headlights as I think that alone would improve the aesthetic as well as visibility. Not to mention make it a true one off. These are far from beauty queens but I love the tough look of the Titan. As for the modern front end I meant our vans kept the same look through their last year 2021. To your point, the Titan was redesigned in 2020 and what a great look, huh!?
  7. Guess I’ll have to find an xd local to me (FL) and start taking down some measurements, maybe fry fit some parts. With 21 being the last year it would be pretty sick to have a more modern front end. I’m not sure what results the research will yield or how long it may take but it is certainly worth taking a deeper look. Wish me luck, I’ll report back once I find something worth talking about. Feel free to keep the convo going. Anyone have any warm leads pass’em along. Have a buddy with a rear ended XD let me know. Thanks
  8. Hello All- wondering if anyone has ever come across or heard through a friends cousins uncles buddy about using Titan headlights in any capacity? searched through a boat load of posts and goose eggs! Prior to purchasing our van I considered a Ford Excursion mostly b/c I was I liked the front end conversions (99-16 Conversion to 2017 Ford Super Duty) but quickly realized that we would be just as smooshed as we were in our odyssey. While day dreaming after work today I had this thought that the same could be done with a Titan front end on our vans.... I am sure there would be some customization involved but I wonder if anyone has or is a search wizard and can help find front end frame dimensions schematics for Nissan NV vs Titan/Titan XD? Thanks
