  1. I happened to run into another ram promaster owner. I was filling up my nv at Sam's club and an owner of a promaster was filling up behind me. I told him, I thought they were all diesel, how do you like your van etc? Well anyways he's not happy. It's been in the shop a bunch for minor issues. Buuuuuuut it does have one issue that makes him furious. The cargo area floor cracked to the point where you can see the road beneath. He only hauls tasty cakes so over loading is clearly not an issue. The vehicle was less than a year old and they are telling him it's not a warranty issue. A mechanic did take him to the side and basically said they make everything so thin which is why it broke. In the mean time he's covered the floor with wood. Yikes.
  2. I see a bunch around, much more NVs compared to transits and promasters. Still doesn't compare in number to the econolines etc. Anyways, Goodwill has a few, 3 or 4 different beer delivery trucks with specific logos on the side, a couple unmarked and just the other day a near identical NVP at the parking lot of seasame place. [blue with top trim package, although i had a tow package :-p]
  3. that's funny ASD Dad, thats the same ones I put in my van lol
  4. If I take my van to the dealer do you think they will give me a hard time fixing the issue for my bolts/bumper? Based on the pictures you've seen I don't know if mine is as bad as yours
  5. Thanks for the info guys :-)
  6. So I was walking out of lowes and was checking out a NV cargo and saw on the bumper this bolt is starting to rust (low grade SS bolt maybe?) Anyways, so when I got back to my van I checked on mine and it was starting to rust as well. Anyone know how to handle this? I don't want it to get any worse and the other van I saw had streaks of rust coming down the bumper :(
  7. 1. I've given up trying to get the paint covered by warranty. They basically said something [most likely bird crap] did the damage. I've been slacking off on taking it to the repair shop. I want to get another estimate just to make sure I'm getting a fair deal and then I'll pull the trigger. I have 2 small dents in the sliding door from a softball bouncing into it, a big dent in the rear door from letting my atv trailer poke the door by accident and the damage on the roof so I'm going to get it all done at once. Hopefully the sliding door can be done paintless but the dent from the trailer is too deep for paintless. 5. Sometimes it happens, i just do the usual move the steering wheel left and right etc. and it works after about 30 seconds. I wish i knew why they can't fix this on cars in general. It's weird.

    That's crazy and beautiful.
  9. Cool, yeah get some pictures up and maybe which model it is. Thanks
  10. funny you should mention the car wash. I wanted to wash the salt off at the local drive through car wash I've taken it to in the past and as I'm in line the attendant says to me that they recently installed new wheel cleaning machines and that my vehicle is now to wide lol. He said Hummers and Raptors are also on the black list as well :)
  11. So we took our second trip in the Nissan NV Passenger to Disney. I installed an OBDII Reader and the Torque Pro app so I could see real time information (especially gas mileage) I tried to keep my RPMs between 2400-2600. The mileage varied between 9mpg to 22mpg depending on if i was chugging up a hill or on a slight down grade. The Long term average MPG is reading at 15.8 MPG All highway. I did replace my dirty air filter before this trip and got an oil change and had them adjust tire pressure as well. It seems that the "range" function on the dashboard is a learning computer (SKYNET!!!) lol. Anyways what I mean is that I've noticed the range starts to learn based on your mileage. When I was home driving around town over and over the tank would give me a range of 270 approx upon fill-up. After the Disney trip I filled my tank and it gave me a range of 400. In reality I was getting 300 miles on a tank and this would take me to about 1/8th tank. On a side note, I know it's bad for your fuel pump to drive to empty because the fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank. what would be considered the lowest safe level? 1/3rd tank 1/2tank? 1/4th tank left? Also had crazy freezing rain and snow while we were leaving PA. Counted like 7 cars that were spun off the road. Drove very slow during this period, It was crazy to have this much ice on the van [about 1/2" thick](I thought my antenna was gonna snap it was flexing back and forth) yet by driving for a few more hours you end up with 80 degree weather. Weather is nuts.

  13. How hard would it be to wire in an override switch to display the rear view image on the monitor. The rear view mirror is useless (in the passenger version as everyone knows). So I would like to flip a button and see what's behind me on the monitor while clipping down the highway.
  14. The way you describe how it handles is how I would describe my 2001 dodge ram pickup, there is play in the steering wheel that means you are constantly moving the wheel which is exhausting on a long trip. My nv passenger 3500 drives very well, I'm not constantly moving the wheel and I drove from PA to Florida twice so far. So it handles nicely. I will say that wind is another issue, I was surprised how much the wind was able to push me. I kinda expected to be immune to wind because of the massive weight, but I guess the toaster-esque shape collects wind like a sail.
  15. I thought I read something a while back about the passenger nvs being sold to large families instead of as shuttles at a rate of 9 to one. If this is true then I think nissan should embrace this and have an upgraded version of the passenger like Eddie Bauer. for example, visor mirrors, entertainment package, electric running boards, "embrace the niche"
