  1. Here's some info on my setup: http://nissannvforum.com/topic/419-these-things-need-a-couple-of-screens/?p=2132
  2. Here is a link to a thread with pics of my setup http://nissannvforum.com/topic/419-these-things-need-a-couple-of-screens/?p=2132
  3. Followup to my issue above, my wife was pregnant with twins at the time and I think that she may have just been big enough to make the belt act strangely. Now that she has a much smaller midsection the belt seems to be functioning better. Still have problems with the kids but may be the same sort of thing - they're pulling it past a certain point and it locks automatically until you feed it all the way back in.
  4. They're all this bad. I had a Quest before and it's Nav, Bluetooth, and Stereo were much, much better. I dumped my head unit for a JVC. Bluetooth still sucks, my hunch is that this thing is just too darn big. I bought another Jawbone to leave in the van. The Nav is a tremendous improvement.
  5. Sorry, just a couple more questions! Were these plug and play or did you have to buy other installation supplies? For the red bulbs in the middle rows, did you buy the same size bulb just in a different color? Thanks again
  6. What's the secret to getting the lights apart? Do you have to pull the whole assembly down or does the clicky part somehow pull down?
  7. I'm going to bring it up when I take it in for the first oil change. Obviously there are a shitload more Titans around than NV's so if you google 'Titan seatbelt locking' there are all kinds of similar reports. It seems like getting them replaced fixes the problem.
  8. My preference is photos! It's hard for me to view videos at work, lol. I have not bought this sort of thing in the past but have bought lots of Tripp Light stuff over the years - UPS units and PDUs and the like and have had good experiences.
  9. What is the install like on these? Plug and play? Any extra wiring or transformers required?
  10. I never did fix it on the Titan. I just listened to her complain, lol. She doesn't ride in it much. The van's a different story. Never had this issue in any of the Quest seats.
  11. Anybody else have problems with the militant seat belt locking on the passenger side? My wife is constantly complaining about hers locking up. It doesn't unlock until she unbuckles and let's it snap back. I also have problems in the 3rd row with my daughter's booster seat. For what it's worth, my old 06 Titan did the same thing.
  12. Hi there. Can't help with the locking gas cap. I have these running boards. My 3 year olds can get in and out on their own with them. http://www.ronusa.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AAS&Product_Code=3199NS3&Category_Code=ALUMSTEPNV
  13. Yeah, they're gigantic, I just tilt them up until I can see. And just because this is a visor post, I must add OMG WHY NO MIRRORS?!!!
  14. My hunch is that the speaker is just too far away. No one could hear me on it unless I craned my neck and shouted into it. That might be my problem with the JVC as well. The JVC mic is mounted near the door at eye level. Maybe this thing is just too darned big. I have great success with both my plantronics and jawbone ERA headsets so I'll stick with those.
  15. I found the factory Nav and Bluetooth to be awful compared to the one that was in my Quest. I replaced the head unit with a JVC KW-NT810-HDT and the Nav is better but the Bluetooth is still awful.

The short answer is that none of the factory stuff works when you replace the head unit. It all uses proprietary connectors. I had to get a new camera, an adapter kit to interface between the steering wheel controls and the head unit, and a brand new Sirius receiver and antenna.

I paid to have this done so I can't say for sure about 'how hard.' The whole project took the shop about 4 days. The cables to the head unit are run under the trim on the drivers side and up the support pillar between the two windows. No visible wires whatsoever.
  18. Yeah I looked at them and they don't offer floor liners for the NV either! :(
  19. Hi Chris, Here's my short list. Likes: Plentiful, Configurable seating Powerful Engine Good brakes and other safety features Heated Seats/mirrors Runs regular unleaded Enormous center console Many cup holders Fits (barely) in my garage (this eliminated Sprinter from consideration) Scares pedestrians and compact car drivers Dislikes: Weird, militant seat belts that 'lock' inexplicably Random beeping at stop lights No Rear Seat entertainment Bad rear view camera Bad nav Bad bluetooth Skipping CD player No Auto/DRL Headlights No Turn signal lights on mirrors No padding on arm rests/console in the front No arm rest on 'aisle' seats in rear No decent floor mats for rows 2-4 My complaints are all white people problems and overall I still like the van. I just liked my Quest better.
  20. Hey I resent that girly man comment. I am trying to figure out how to get some padding on that door armrest and console myself! :) I'm also with you on the headlights, need to find some way to improve that. Thanks for the write up, can't wait to take the beast on a long trip myself.
  21. Here are some pics of what the factory 'all weather' ones look like. I guess they will have to do.
  22. Here are some pics of my finished install. There are a number of things I'm not completely satisfied about, here are my misc ramblings. 1. Nothing matches the color of the interior of this thing. Grey is wrong. Tan is wrong. Black is way off. You can really see this in the headrests. 2. I had to replace the backup camera when I replaced the head unit. The new one is better than stock but still not great. The one on my Quest was great plus it had the parking assist lines. 3. The head unit was really the best way to get a 'master' DVD player that I could control. My kids are all little and can't really work the individual ceiling mounted ones. 4. The head unit is a JVC KW-N810HDT. It supports a bunch of different inputs and outputs and smartphones and the like. I have a solid state hard drive in my glove box with a bunch of mp4 files. They play great on the head unit but for some reason this thing doesn't pass those to the rear screen outputs. Stupid software bug imo. 5. The far rear screen swivels, which is kind of important so my 4 year old can see the screen, but it wobbles a lot when tilted. 6. Speaking of the rear screen...there's no good place to put it. Between the dome lights and the A/C vents we had to settle for the least bad option. It kind of works now, it kind of works when the kids are bigger. If I move the seats around again all bets are off. 7. The stock bluetooth phone capability was awful with my Galaxy S5. The new bluetooth phone capability is even worse. I don't know if this head unit is not entirely compatible with the bluetooth on my phone or what. Need to call support. 8. The nav in this head unit is 100x better than stock. Total cost including the steering wheel controls and Sirius setup was $3,350.
