Vic called again at exactly the same time 4:18 like clock work. Nothing to say other than the person he needs to contact at the new dealer was not in again today. Stayed tuned, if he calls tomorrow at 4:18 I'll be impressed he's thinking of me. Rick.

Last time i went from Florida to L.A was via the Panama Canal on a 15 day cruise. with 14 of those days at the Captains table. I Guess the captain must have eyed my girlfriend. Plus at the time we were in our mid 20's and not on an oxygen tank like the majority of the ship. Something tells me the ship got better mileage than my van :gaah: Rick.

Not so quick with Jerome to the rescue. Today at 4:18 pst i got call from Vic. the new cs rep from Nissan commercial. Apparently they've been promoting their other cs reps to other positions. so in the few weeks since i started this thread, we've lost Chase and Jerome, and as starting again with Vic. He's going to call the new dealer and see if they will get to the bottom of my issues. Vic did say that the dealers are independently owned and some are not as willing to get things done. Stay tuned. expecting a call tomorrow. Rick.

Thanks for the feedback. your's being a 2015 has an updated nav system. so i know they made some improvements. Sounds like your caller id works with any number in your phone. mine only works on the outgoing calls. Sounds like your bluetooth voice dialer works properly. If you have an opportunity, can you try to search by name or scroll. does it work better than mine? Rick

Glad to hear your results from both of your towing experiences. i take it you both have the v8 engines. As you know my mileage is in the 7 mpg with no trailer. maybe i need to tow a 30' trailer and i'll get better mpg's than carrying 2000# in a van rated for almost 3800# of cargo. Thanks for the real numbers. Rick.

Decades. thanks for the link to the titan forum. i read through all 9 pages of comments and they looked very positive for those users. problem is the fix dates back to 2005 and i doubt that 9 years later it will still apply to our NV'S. Fyi, filled up yesterday 157 miles / 22.22 gal.= 7.07 mpg. 2859 miles 87 octane here is $3.60 $80.00 to travel 157 miles isn't good. that's .51 per mile just in fuel. spoke to Jerome yesterday and he is going to call another dealer to have them look into all the issues. It appears that the nav sd card for a cargo is different than for a passenger van according to the Nissan site when you enter your vehicle info. Why? same model year van but different sd card part. On the Nissan site, the sd card in the passenger van also updates the software, but not on the cargo van. Why? My local dealer service manager claims there is nothing newer than a 2012 sd card. of course we all know the service managers don't know as much as we do. Nissan commercial customer service doesn't know who to believe. me who can easily send them the link or the dealer who is winging it with no personal knowledge of my vehicle. Bluetooth compatibility list only shows 2012 model year. nothing newer to check to see if a phone will work. Nissan doesn't stay ontop of their own websites for these issues. Rick Very frustrating dealing with 2 different parties.

Jerome must have taken Chace's spot because that's who i've been speaking too today too. of course still a waste of time as he spoke to the local nissan service manage who told him my 2012 sd card is the most current. which we all know is a lie. also told him that the poor gas mileage is due to my weight of 2000# of cargo. which we all know that's false too as people towing 30' travel trailers weighing 8000# with huge wind resistance are getting much better mileage. of course he knows all this without ever seeing my van in person. the bluetooth and navigation he claims is also working properly and it must be my phone that's making it not work. told him to show me a phone that does work. in fact the approved phones on nissans website only let you enter a 2012 model year nothing newer. amazing how they act so smart without ever seeing my van. I'll try Jerome tomorrow and see what he has to offer once i update him with the proof of the facts. Rick.

I believe the range after fillups are based on your past overall averages. i track my mileage and take a photo of the receipt to go with the cc charge. i also have a scanguage ll and it lets me know roughly my average mpg while the engine is running, once stopped it resets for the next leg of the day. i have it set to show even my fuel flow in gph. present mpg and average mpg. even the lod on the engine. can't seem to get why the mileage is so poor. ive tried shifting too to keep the rpm in the 2000-2200 range. try to watch the lod and average mpg on the scanguage to get better numbers. but nothing is really making a difference. Thanks for your insight. will see what they say in 2 days. Rick.

Jerry, do you have the v8 or the 6 ? Is this is a low top cargo? What weight is it carrying full time? Is the 12.7-13.5 on the highway or surface streets? Were you worried about the oil change at such low mileage? Very interesting data. Thanks for your input. I'll see what they have to say in 2 days. Rick.

When I fillup with 24-25 gallons, the range shows approx 210 miles. Yet ive never broken 200. This morning I tried Nissan corporate again and after they tried to get a hold of someone in the commercial department for more than 60 minutes, I gave up and let them handle it. Sure enough about 10 minutes after hanging up with corporate, the commercial rep called me. Spoke for a short period as I was already real late to my first project. Now I have his name and direct contact number. We spoke again this afternoon when I had some free time. He documented my issues and will call me back after he speaks to the dealership within 48 hours. Of course he has never driven a NV Before. So he's not very familiar with the workings of the van. Rick.

No call back on Saturday or today/ Monday. So much for Nissan corporate escalating the call. No more excuses that they're out of town on a company meeting. This is a call center that can't even get their phones working correctly. One day it accepts messages, another day can't leave messages, another day it's Infinity. sounds like when i'm using my bluetooth voice dialer. you never know who you'll get when you dial by voice. Might have better luck calling from a blocked number. You never know if they screen their calls or are just that screwed up. Rick
-
Glad you got your check. I still haven't gotten a return phone call since wednesday 6/10, leaving them numerious phone messages and speaking to nissan corporate who was suppose to escalate my issues. Maybe a $40,000 check will wake them up. Rick.
-
See post #8. Yes I got the same joke of an email syaing they tried to contact me. Of couse my initial call has yet to be returned from either the dealer or the commercial customer service. I spoke to nissan corporate today which is also a call center. They are supposed to escalate this and I'm suppose to hear back from them tomorrow/ saturday or monday the latest. Well at least I have it documented and im not the only one getting the run around. Rick.
-
Tried calling again just now. 877-647-6281 x2 Either their phone lines are all screwed up or nissan commercial is now infinity consumer affairs. They are closed today due to an offsite meeting and will open tomorrow/ saturday june 13 at 7 am cst. Are we no longer part of nissan commercial? This has been a run around for weeks now. Rick.

Seeking Advice: NV Passenger Van + RV for Family of 7?
RICK replied to Fred Fauth's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
come out to los angeles, there's well over 100 within 25 miles of me. passenger vans have better color choices out here. cargo vans are 90% white. Can't find the specs right now, but remember that your trailer will take away from your gcvwr. not sure without looking it up, but a fully loaded maxed out trailer leaves very little weight for the van to carry. or at least carry it legally. commercial enforcement out here is very expensive. Rick. -
very little idling, unless you count red lights and stop signs. i honestly was thinking someone was siphoning gas, but the numbers are pretty much the same lousy numbers for 6 months. i also drive very conservative as this is my work truck, i can't risk having it out of commission. the same reason why i bought it as my 6 year old sprinter with 37,000 miles was acting up, my sprinter was much heavier and still got more than 2x the mileage. still waiting for a return call from corporate or the dealer. Rick.
-
Another day, another call not returned as promised on their voice mail. Does Nissan not care about customer service anymore? Why even bother having a Customer service number when all it does is make one more frustrated by not answering or returning calls. Tomorrow i will try again and see what that gets me. Is Nissan looking to buy back my van since they don't bother following up on any calls? Rick.
-
it's been 2 weeks since i tried contacting them and left a message that they never returned. finally i got a hold of them 3 business days later after several attempts to reach them. after discussing my concerns and issues i'm waiting on, they have not called me back now going on 10 days. so today i got the same run around with leaving a message and they will call back the next business day. we'll see if they actually follow up on my message tomorrow, The selling dealer was suppose to follow up with me too, still holding my breath. between the nav unit, bluetooth, seat belt that doesn't latch properly and the passenger side warning light stays lit most of the day and last but certainly not the least is the lousy gas mileage. filled up today and 179 miles using 24.59 gallons that averages a mere 7.28 mpg. i have yet to break 200 miles on a tank of gas. you guys with 30' travel trailers loaded to 8000# are getting 2x the mileage i get with no trailer in tow, the dealer said they never heard of such poor mileage and was going to check into it. along with upgrading to a current nav sd card and making the bluetooth actually work properly. 2702 miles on the van and it's been a very costly experience so far. Am i the only 1 with this lousy mileage? Rick.

Does the bluetooth phone recognize your voice and dial the correct name/ number? Can you look up names in the navs phone book and scroll? Or does it do it 1 name at a time starting with the letter A only by voice and no way to scroll any faster than 1 at a time by voice? Does it have caller id by name that's already entered into its phone book? Does the nav work while on the bluetooth phone, or does it just show you the phone number and duration? Hopefully they made improvements to 2015 nav unit that the 2014 and older nav systems are lacking. Rick.

The "Staff Forum Moderator" is based out of Australia. Didn't even know these were sold outside North America. Remember last week with the spammers. It took a few days for the moderator to close them out, even after I sent in several different spam reports. Know we know why. http://nissannvforum.com/user/1-staff/ Rick.

Yes his is a 2015 built in March. They did an upgrade for 2015. Still waiting on a resolution from last Mondays call to Nissan Commercial and the dealership. 1 week and nothing yet. Rick.

see post #4. got the same email saying they have tried to contact me literally seconds after i got off the phone with them after 4 business days trying to reach them. all smoke and mirrors and i emailed them back with the facts, of course i'm still waiting to hear back from them or the dealer since 6/1. Rick.

waiting for them to give me an answer from my conversation on 6/1. i guess i won't hold my breath. Rick.

Bought my first vehicle as a new electrical contractor...NV2500
RICK replied to Brute's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
welcome to the forum Brute. I'll be the first to warn you. 10' electrical conduit doesn't easily fit into the back of the van. your stuff is light weight compared to my 10' lengths of cast iron sitting at an angle when i need to transport some. i found that i can squeeze a 10' length of 4'' plastic under the drivers seat and through the partition to store 10' lengths of copper. this fits just into the cutout on the factory adrian steel shelving. don't know why they shorted us the 6'' a contractor needs for a stick of pipe.
