  1. thanks for asking. seems like if i ask the same question i get jumped on. very true. they had no problem taking my $38,000 check 3 months ago, but won't take a 79.00 cc over the phone. to make it fair i called the 2 local nv dealers and not all 10 in the greater los angeles area. Rick.
  2. the 2 dealers are huge, 1 is carson nissan where i purchased my 3500 from and the other is also close to them in the south bay/ redondo beach. i think they go by auto nation. between the 2 of them they have over 70 nv's in stock. it really isn't a unique part out here as mirrors get broken very often with all the vehicles on the road and parked. but to make someone drive 30 plus miles each way just to order a $79.00 mirror makes no sense especially since traffic makes it over an hour each way. multiply this by a return trip and it's crazy. can't understand why they won't take a phone order with a credit card, but places line amazon and ebay survive on this type of transaction. As far as replacing the glass insert, it can be done in seconds with no tools. there is a plastic disc with fingers built into it and the glass plastic backing plate snaps into the mirror swivel backing plate. the 2 wires for the defroster are just spade slip on connectors. For kicks i called the dealer that mcguy posted about in virginia. they will order the mirror as long as they fax you a cc authorization form. but they won't mail the part so it's useless anyways. and for some reason they are $98.00 plus tax which is $20.00 more than my dealers and amazon. they did have the complete assembly in stock for $410.00 if interested. Rick.
  3. Ok then I should start a complete new thread subject just for my negative experiance trying to order a replacement part from 2 different Nissan dealerships. Would you make 2 round trips to purchase a $79.00 mirror glass? On a day with no traffic it's 1.5 hours round trip. X 2 to return and pick up the 10 ounce part. My less than stellar experiance you speak of is about a factory defective radio/ gps. Seeing you're not too interested in actually helping, you obviously don't own 1. Yet post #2 and #5 get no comments. Try using your ignore feature if you don't like what I post. 11 other members have thanked me for my post. Rick.
  4. Tried to order a replacement glass mirror insert from my dealer and another local dealer yesterday. Mine was hit and I was able to jot down the name on the truck while I was standing outside of a fast food joint. Needless to say neither dealer wants my business. Not only will they not take a credit card over the phone, they want me to come in to order it and then return in another 2 days when it arrives. Sat down on the computer and found the exact factory Nissan replacement on Amazon in minutes, paid by cc and ships for free. This was faster than the time it took for the dealer to look up the part #. Not to mention the 2 wasted trips I would have had to make. Makes no sense that they can't process a cc order to save at least 1 trip to the dealer. No wonder Amazon is kicking the brick and mortar stores out of business. Rick

  7. I mounted mine just to the right and lower than the ignition key. short screws into the plastic. needs to be secure and level. don't trust tape if it falls, the brakes can lock when you apply the brakes. Rick not allowing me to attach a photo for some reason.
  8. While driving you can't program an address or point of interest. since the nav is not voice command, you need to come to a stop to be programmed. Rick.
  9. Are these wires easily accessible? Or do you have to remove parts of the dash to access it? Can it be found further down under the dash? Now that you've figured this out, is there a way to allow the gps to display when on the bluetooth phone? Rick.
  10. My 3 year old garmin does bluetooth and voice recognition is pretty accurate for hands free commands. you need to go to a real stereo shop and talk with a salesman who knows the units. there are plenty that allow voice commands and display the maps while on the phone. there are interfaces that will allow you to still use your steering wheel controls. along with a wiring harness that will plug right into the factory harness. Rick.
  11. Its the factory chevy/ gm entertainment center. So I would think its Delphi. Looked up the option and it was $795. For the entertainment center, without being forced to buy the additional airbags. Amazing how the Chevy and Nissan Gps and radio, bluetooth are so night and day. My chevy rates a 10 compared to my nissan a 1, even with my chevy being 1 year older. 10 being tops and 1 being a true disappointment. Rick.
  12. I know my 2013 chevy traverse allows for gps and bluetooth at the same time. And the voice recognition accuracy is 95% spot on. Rick.
  13. Being a sevice contractor, my phone is always on and living in a city with 3 million plus, the phone keeps ringing. Granted my service area is small, I only do about 6,000 miles a year. But at 12 mph average speed, I need the maps to find the shortest and fastest route to the job. So not having a map when the phone is in use is useless. Remember they built these for the commercial business customer, not the sunday driver. So having a useless gps and bluetooth is very very bad for business. Rick.
  14. An auxiliary camera or those stupid looking dome mirrors on the front fender will work. But then youll look like the short bus. Rick.
  15. Warmers, I need coolers. It was 92 today and people were outside running 26.2 miles today. Rick.
  16. i was at my customers house yesterday and he owns a 2014 infinity. he was telling me they recalled his infinity to upgrade the bluetooth. i guess it also affected nissans flagship vehicles too. Maybe with enough feedback they will do the NV's too. My 6 year old sprinter and 2 year old chevy traverse have perfect working sonar systems and the traverse has a fully functioning and perfect bluetooth and navigation. no hit and miss like the nissan. Rick
  17. The voice command is off most of the time. It doesn't recognize the names of the people I call the most. Very frustrating. No caller id even though they are in my phone book shows it when I dial out, not incoming. They ordered a new sd card for my 2014 3500, as mine was made in 2012. I went to the dealer last week for a few items and the sd card they recieved is also dated 2012, packaged in 2013 and recieved in 2015. It's totally useless. even the parts guy is frustraited with this system. He told me that Nissan contracts with Pioneer and Clarion along with Bosch. Bosch being the most issues. I guess you've never tried taking or making a call while on the navigation mode? Rick
  18. tell me about it. took mine in last week for the seat belts and side door. 3 hours wasted and they have to order parts. even the gps sd card they ordered is the same old 2012 version i already have. amazing as it was packaged in 2013 and shipped to the dealer in 2015. don't they ever turn over old inventory? towing my trailer causes the sensors to go bazerk. i turn them off while towing. Rick
  19. yes, in the 2015 they upgraded the radio gps unit. nissan uses 3 different radio manufactures. bosch, pioneer and clarion according to the parts dept. Rick.
  20. coming to a stop makes sense as the sensors should only operate at approx 5 mph or less. mine always come on when backing out of a driveway and the the truck is approaching the street. simple way to test it's the parking sonar is to shut the system off with the switch on the lower dash. Rick
  21. on my sprinter and gmc w4500, i have the camera i installed running full time since there are no rear windows. never had an issue and have thousands of hours on them. I suggest to install a dedicated camera and monitor for this purpose. this way you can aim it and not void any of your warranty with the factory rear view. i suggest a wired camera and not a wireless. under $200. for a very good setup. Rick.

    Towing and roadside assitance coverage
  23. There's a continuation of the towing coverage. Unfortunally it will not accept another screenshot. Not sure why. Just go to your warranty pdf from the nissan site and read the next page. I'll try later to post it. Rick
  24. Took a screenshot of the towing coverage. It's actually 5 years 60, 000 miles. And roadside assistance is 3 year 36, 000 miles.
