Just dealt with this on our old Sienna. They were all swollen so much that a 22mm fit tight (they are 21 stock). I hate those chrome caps, they are near identical to the NV lug nuts. I ended up buying a full set of Dorman OEM replacements on Amazon. Figure I got 8 years out of the first set. I didnt see any decent alternatives that had good ratings.

Lots of people having photo attachment issues and I no longer get any response from the admin here. Don think they care or want to pay for the extra hosting storage, just not enough traffic on this site. Sorry guys. Best bet would be to upload to a photo hosting site and link it that way if you really want to post a photo.

http://nissannvforum.com/topic/1060-what-have-you-done-to-your-nv-van-lately/ Same forum as this thread just down a bit. This new thread is fine, it's not like we have a ton of site traffic to worry about! Hope the server will upload pics. A few have been having those issues lately. You can always link them to a file hosting site if you were ambitious.

Seriously?? A UNIBODY Defender? One of the greatest off road vehicles in motoring history?? My old friend had two Defenders and they were beasts. Crude. Very crude. But were unstoppable. What a way to tarnish a brand. Name it something else, what do they have to lose? Going off the name and trying to get hipsters to buy it who have never seen the original Defender and just know the name brand. I agree with above, nothing out there will fit out needs and I dont see anything coming that will. There is still nothing made on the market that is current gen that will do what the NV does. There are others that can hold more people or stuff but none can tow anything bigger than a small trailer. That is the key for us - nothing out there tows this much that can carry anywhere near the same amount of payload. Anything else in this towing class is a pickup. Chevy and Ford used to have options in the 3/4T Burb and Excursion but got out of the market. Hopefully Nissan keeps the NV going as what it is. Even if you wanted to spend double the NV there is still nothing out there in its class.

I would buy a last model year if they were going to discontinue just so I had the least miles and newest chassis. Nothing at all wrong with my 2015 but I want to keep it as long as possible. @Rad - beware Dahle - there are a LOT of negative posts about that dealership and I personally had a bad experience with them talking with their manager Tyler Slade. Guy was rude and arrogant then flat out refused to answer questions. I was thinking of getting a leftover 2018 a few months back. Wanted upgrades too - wheels/tires, rack, running boards and even discussed 4x4. Still nothing. After reading post after post of people having issues with sales, service and the actual van/conversion I am so happy I walked away. Some people have been waiting weeks to months on getting issues resolved with crickets for a response even from Slade. Not acceptable especially when paying that much. Having a "factory" parts 4x4 sounds wonderful but I wont deal with them ever. Dahle may be the largest with the most vans in stock but many wont deal with them now after posts on FB.

FB big page has at least 1 person a day shopping for one. Many fly or drive out of state to get get them too. Quite a few 4x4 conversions, lifts, racks, wheels, etc... LOTS of huge families, that seems to be the main poster on the busiest page. Still, may questions could easily be found here. What wheels/tires fit, what camper can I tow, rack options, etc... The rest are questions we dont see often - kids car seat configurations, kids stuff storage, kids stuff cleanup, etc. Lots of dealer feedback as well and pricing feedback. My guess is most of these families are already on FB so a post on the NV page pops right up and they can jump in. Or its very easy to post to the page. Doesnt matter if you have to find a sub forum or use the search (they almost never do). Just post away and somebody will chime in.

It's been quiet a long time. FB groups are quite busy but its a lot of the same questions and posts. Not sure why this site doesnt get more attention, a lot of their questions would be quickly found here.

Nice work! Looks like it will hold some happy dogs.

Nissan is dropping the Cummins V8 from the Titan and Cummins will no longer produce it after Nissan stops using them. Nissan is also dropping the regular cab Titan. So much for the pipe dream of a diesel NV. Honestly if the NV did get one it would be a small 4 cyl diesel for gas mileage for all the contractors. This is still a commercial van first and passenger van second. With Nissan profit tanking and the large layoffs I am happy they still make the NV period. If they do announce they are going to drop the NV I would seriously consider trading my 2015 for a new one to keep it around the family as long as possible.

Two radios and my drivers seat - all under warranty. Radios both got glitchy. Drivers seat I wore the "leather" dye off the cushion.

Plenty of people have lift kits from 2" up to 6". Lots of bigger wheels and tires (20" easily fit). Also lots of 4x4 conversions to go along with those mods. Spacers WILL NOT WORK. Your sliding door will hit the tire when opening. You can get away with a little wider than stock to a point and then need to shim the door. After that it just wont work period. An easy search will bring up plenty of photos and specs of wheels/tires/lifts.

How To: Remove dash panels to access radio or pockets
ASD Dad replied to ASD Dad's topic in Audio & Navigation
Hello Captain - Sorry, I missed this the other day. I have not bypassed the reverse camera, I have actually never removed my radio completely. I pulled all the panels off to get access to the pocket under the radio to mount my electric brake controller. You can get free wiring diagrams for the factory harness online. Crutchfield will have pdf files of all the radio control harness wires. I am sure the online shop manual will have full wiring diagrams for everything in the van but I have only used that manual once to find a part number years ago. The switch/relay/wire to turn on the camera and screen should be somewhere closer than the actual connector behind the radio, I just have no idea where. Good luck! -
That looks nice. I truly hated how hard the center console was for months but after 4 years I am totally used to it. Would still like some padding but at this point I dont care as much.

I like it! A lot! Clean and simple. How is the light bar wired? Is it flood or spot? i also have LED's in my headlights but still want better long distance illumination.

Renewed rant or just plain rant
ASD Dad replied to radin2son's topic in Nissan NV Forum, Feedback and Help
I liked your photo album of your rack build. I just dont think this site has any traffic. I'd love to see the site stats but I cant. Seems like everybody is over at FB. Problem for me there is it feels like it is 90% big families with 10% other stuff. That is fine for the group but not what I am mainly interested in. Plus it is way easier to write detailed posts here and search here. -

Custom fabricated roof rack mounts.....

None of the links work for me, all get 404 not found on server errors. Not sure about the photos not posting, like I said in the other post - I cant get any feedback from the higher ups at the site admin level. -
Still no reply back from Admin. I sort of feel like this site is dying which is a big bummer. I was wrong in my post above. Last time my contact was on this site was in MARCH, not May... So they have not been around a very long time.
-
Site normally goes down when the server goes down. Could be anything from a tech outage to somebody not paying the fees to keep it up. Hosting costs money of course and unless the admin just has spare money around I am guessing they only make money with the ads and click throughs. I dont believe this site is affiliated with Nissan officially at all. I honestly dont know who started it, I just have a contact name. I have not heard back from that person. FYI - the admin has not been on this site since mid May.
-
Not a peep from admin. Guessing site doesnt get enough traffic to bother paying to keep it open (just my personal guess)
-
I reached out to the head guy here about the outage and will report back if I hear anything.
-
To be honest, I have no idea. I thought the site went down forever when it was down the last few days.

That looks nice! They are noisy, I had to wrap my front bar with rope (I have the Topper Galvanized 12' rack) and that killed 99% of the noise. Not sure how that would work with double bars, I have a single bar up front. Those mounting points are a big pain to get wrench in. I took a cheap Harbor Freight wrench and ground it thinner to use. What did you use?

We were told mint oil will stop mice and chipmunks so we are using that to see if it will also help with the snakes. Best way to spray is to dilute it in rubbing alcohol and then spray from a bottle. The alcohol evaporates and leaves the peppermint oil behind. Also smells nice! I sprayed under the hood around the intakes (up my windshield area), in the vents, under the dash, etc.
