  1. I love the long front ends for inside comfort too, my old Chevy van had the engine right next to my leg. I don't miss that.
  2. Sounds like a defective head unit, AM antenna are internal, maybe it was never hooked up.

  4. It might be easier to use aluminum flat stock, lower profile and it should be stronger. It would still leave space under it to thread rope or straps. This is a great idea though.
  5. I think a v6 is underpowered for the size of the vehicle. I have no idea about the harness fire, but I can bet you the v8 will last a lot longer since it's not working near as hard.
  6. It's the same parts for the newer vans, nothing has changed. There is no filter for the rear air so everigets sucked into the vent. The rear return vent is located behind the driver's seat. I would do some inspecting in there and see if it's clogged with junk.
  7. When welding you put a lot of tension between the spots that are welded and the surrounding metal. I had an engineer in our shop a couple weeks back and for him he always tempers any metal that's been welded on his screen printing presses to relieve that tension. It makes perfect sense to me.
  8. A heat gun or plumbing torch helps the vinyl conform to the curves. We do some vinyl at our shop. It can be fun and challenging. I like the white bumper, that looks cool
  9. Why do you need that? Kidding. There isn't unfortunately. It's one of the things that bugs the crap out of me.
  10. This is how most shops bill because it's how the mechanics get paid. If the dealership didn't bill it the shop down the road would. It's a fair price. The guy has probably done a lot of them and has it down. Mechanics make good money because they are usually worth it.
  11. Yeah, you know those evil Japanese, they just hate healthy children. ;) The funny thing is the transit I test drove had no rear air at all.
  12. It's strange that others are having problems, we are in ga, never an issue. Are you making sure to adjust the air as cold as it goes with the controls on the ceiling? My wife thought it auto adjusted with the main controls.
  13. Running boards. They are a must for the kids getting in and out.

    fender bender

Mine did include a professional install, I think labor was half of that. Good luck taking a dent out of chrome without it looking like a mess.

    fender bender

Bumper and install costs $1500. Been through this already. My fog light was busted too.
  16. The problem with towing overweight is safety for you and other drivers. If you have your feet on the dash or your headrest too low your only hurting yourself. Having a blowout and fishtailing on the highway at 70+ may very well kill someone else. I've experienced blowouts with no trailer and it's terrifying. I've found never underestimate people's stupidity.
  17. You can't trim the bottom of a header. Divide the height of the joist or header into 3rds, you cannot drill or cut in the outer 3rds, only the inside 3rd. Headers and joists are load bearing. Calculations have been done to make sure it can support the loads above it across the span. If your garage isn't high enough you need to meet with an architect or very good general contractor to figure out a solution. I've seen several people that have trimmed their headers and eventually this will end badly.
  18. Unless your van has been modified, it's 84"...which should still fit. I think the roofs looks terrible from the factory, the spot welds are very noticeable. It looks like they just said eff it, paint it and go.
  19. Right, the lifts are in the service bays, but they hadn't redone the wash bays for the height of the NV. So the roof was damaged by the car wash. Did the car wash you took it to say it would fit?
  20. He's talking about the service lift for oil changes and tire rotation. What did the clearance on the car wash say? You'll have a case if with photo evidence of it being over 84".
  21. Are you guys trimming the actual header or simply the trim? Headers and joists aren't supposed to be drilled or cut below the bottom 1/3rd of the wood, so a 2*10 shouldn't be cut within 3 inches of the edges.

    Seat weight

The double seats weigh 120 from what I was told. The singles should be close to 50 I would think.
  23. This really stinks to read this. Our 2016 is our first Nissan from a long line of Toyotas and we couldn't be happier. It sounds like growing pains that come along with a new drivetrain, but Nissan should have a better solution. Sadly the nv is such a small segment of the market that it probably won't get the attention it needs. Again though, our van has been nothing short of fantastic, I just wish we were closer to the dealer we bought it from. The one close to us is meh.
  24. White smoke is coolant. Blue is oil. I would look that direction.
  25. Mark, can you give me the name of the person you talked to? Brad at replaprints com
