  1. I received a email notice from Nissan that of a Navigation map update was available for my 2016 (which I purchased new in March of 2017, the 2017s weren't out yet). Has anyone purchased the update? If so, how is the NAV system updated? Do they send you something or is it fed automatically some way? Thanks.
  2. I purchased the front and rear Timbren rubber spring system and found the rears to be a little too stiff for me as I don't do any towing. I contacted Timbren and they sent me some lower durometer rubber ones that worked for me. I only had these on for about 100mi., so they are basically new. They are super easy to install, you just replace the factory bump stops and you don't even have to remove the rear tires if you don't want to. Once installed, they are in constant contact with the rear axle housing and raised the rear by about 1/2" (van was unloaded). These sold originally for $317 and I will sell them for $225, Now $200! Here is a link to their website for info: http://timbren.com/blog/products-page/nrnvhd/ .
  3. I wish Weather Tech would make them for the NV, they are the in-channel type. I have contacted them a few times and never got a response.
  4. What brand are the folding benches you used? Do you have a link for the article: "REI CO-OP Journal has plans for a great platform double bed", I searched and couldn't find it. Thanks.
  5. Well, I consider the original fluid as “break in fluid”.
  6. I have a 2016 2500 with the 5.6 V8 and want to change the rear differential fluid. The manual says what type of fluid to use, but doesn’t say what the capacity is, anyone know how much is needed? Thanks.
  7. I had Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks on my Dodge diesel truck and they made a big difference. I looked and Rancho does not have an application for the NV, has anyone tried aftermarket shocks that they liked better than the stock Nissan ones?
  8. Has anyone installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension kit on their NV or another vehicle? If so, just curious what your thoughts on it are, thanks. https://activesuspension.com/products/kits/2011-2016-nissan-nv-2500-vans/ .

  10. All the Aux. batteries are charged by the vans 12vdc system thru the Blue Sea Battery isolator. The battery isolator prevents the vans main battery (the one that came with the van and used to start the van) from being drained when using the Aux. batteries for the 120v inverter or just 12vdc (the inverter senses that the aux batteries are being used and breaks the connection to the main battery). I placed one of the Aux. batteries up front next to the main battery for a few reasons, one, because there is room there (if you replace the large stock battery, with a smaller size) and not taking up room inside the van, second, just so there is a Aux. battery up front fo any accessories or to jump the main battery if needed. The single 120vac outlet on the floor only connects to shore power or a generator, it is not connected to the vans 12vdc system. But, the inverter is also a charger (not all inverters are), so you can plug it into shore power or a generator and charge the batteries. I don't have any current plans to add solar power panels at this time, but they could be added to this existing system easily.
  11. I got all the drawer parts from Nissanpartsdeal.com except for the Part No.: 87414-1PA0A REINFORCE ASSYSLIDE Qty: 1, even though they said they have it, when it comes to shipping, they really don't, so I had to order it from the official Nissan website. The prices are much better from the Nissan website than going to your local dealer. The thing is though, when you order from them on-line, it has to actually be sent through your local dealer as they don't sell directly to you (they don't tell you that though). Even though you choose to have your order shipped to you, your order goes to the dealer and they ship it to you, so save the extra shipping time and shipping cost, just pick it up at the dealer. I paid $89.99 + free shipping from Opticsplanet when it was on sale, so just do a on-line chat and see what price you can talk them down to. .
  12. Thanks for the nice complements, the part numbers for the under seat drawer are: Part No.: 87390-1PA0A DRAWER ASSY-FRO Qty: 1 Part No.: 87309-1PA0A RAIL-UNDER TRAY Qty: 1 Part No.: 87359-1PA0A RAIL-UNDER TRAY Qty: 1 Part No.: 87184-1PA0A SCREW Qty: 4 Part No.: 01451-0022U SCREW Qty: 2 Part No.: 87414-1PA0A REINFORCE ASSYSLIDE Qty: 1 One of the metal slides that holds one of the plastic rails came on the van, the forward one (so you shouldn't nee it). I looked at trying to rotate the whole drawer assembly 90deg so it could be pulled out forward into the passenger foot area so it could be opened by the passenger when the door was closed, but the opening in-between the seat mount feet was about 1/2" too narrow and I didn't want to cut them up for it to fit. The Mud River canvasback seat storage I got on sale from OpticsPlanet.com, they don't look to be on sale now, but I have found if you go to "live chat" and ask for their best price, they will give you a discount. They look like a grey color in some pictures on other websites that sell them, but they only make one color and it is a light brown/tan, which goes somewhat with the headliner. .
  13. I used one of these pass thru fittings and had it come out inside the van just under the passenger seat as there was already a hole there that had tape over it (I did have to enlarge it some). I used 1/0 wire because I was connecting a battery in the engine bay to the two batteries inside the van. Since the wire was doing more than just charging (as it was going to transfer power too), that is why it is 1/0 gage. https://www.bluesea.com/products/2204/Terminal_Feed_Through_Connector_-_3_8in-16_Studs_%5BRed%5D .
  14. I have been keeping busy after I retired doing some mods to my NV. Not trying to make it a camper, but just a few thing to make it easier on overnight fishing trips and everyday use. Here is what I added: I changed the stock battery to a Optima and added one Optima Aux. battery next to it in the engine bay. I added two Optima Aux. deep cycle batteries (for a total of three Aux. batteries) inside. I added a 2000 watt inverter that runs off of them. I added a 120v. at the base of the passenger seat that has a cord that runs outside to a connector so I don't have to run an extension cord thru the door opening when I want to connect to the gas generator. I put a factory tray/drawer under the passenger seat. The part numbers are the same as the one under the driver's seat, pretty easy to add. I also made a aluminum rail for the floor just on the inside of the side door, because I didn't like it when things would fall down onto the step and falling out when the door was opened. I used the tie down locations to bolt it to. The canvas storage is handy as it will store long items in the lower two padded areas like rifles (the bottom one is detachable). It is easily removed with a couple buckles. It is made by Mud River. Let me know what you think. .
  15. Well, I couldn't take it any longer, so I changed the angle of the column shifter. I was originally going to make it shorter, but I couldn't remove the manual shift tip on the end without probably breaking it and the wires running down it might get damaged pulling them out and getting them back in. So, I removed the shifter are and bent it more straight so it doesn't end as low in the drive position. The removal was not easy and the wires going to the manual shifting switch don't just unplug at one connector, two or three of the wires went to other places and I had to take the wires and pin out to remove the shifter arm. it took several trial bends until I got to where I wanted it. The shifter has a very thick wall in the tube and was difficult to bend because of all the angles on it (tough to get a good grip). I am much happier with it now, but it wasn't easy to remove, bend and replace.
  16. The NV exhaust O.D. at the tail pipe is a metric size and normal inch tips don't fit well. I wanted something different and some ground clearance, so I used a NASCAR oval zoom tip. I had it black powder coated because they come in bare steel and it fit the look of my van. Not cheap, but it is the look I wanted.
  17. I am installing some extra batteries to use on a 12v to 120V converter and will be using a Blue Sea SI-ACR isolator. The isolator has a terminal to connect the starter solenoid wire to so it only uses the main battery and not the others when starting. My question is, since the starter is buried under the intake manifold, does anyone know where I might tap into (hopefully somewhere in the fuse box area under the hood) this wire to use on the isolator? I really don't want to run a wire thru the firewall from the ignition if I can locate it in the engine compartment.
  18. . I looked in the manual and I couldn't find it, anyone know the amperage output the alternator is on the 2016 5.6l engine? Is it a 130amp alternator?
  19. , I don't know, 1/3 of the reviews on the Motomaster aren't very good. This is what I have been seeing, every inverter has too many negative reviews, doesn't seem to be any that have almost all positive comments.
  20. I was looking for the intake system (I already have a K&N filter). I looked at your Airaid review link, but it doesn't say what the Airaid part number is or which model Nissan it was from you adapted. Was it for a Titan? There are (8) part numbers shown on the Airaid site for a 2015 Titan with the 5.6L. Thanks.
  21. . Do you know the kit number of the Airaid you used? When I go to the Airaid website, they only list Nissan Frontiers, no other models for 2016. Thanks. I sent a message to Airaid and received this back: Thanks for your interest in AIRAID products. You are registered to receive notifications featuring products for a 2016 NISSAN NV2500 5.6L. This email was sent to inform you that currently we do not offer any products that have been specifically identified for use with for your vehicle. We regularly add new products and product applications and we will notify you if any products become available for your vehicle. We appreciate your feedback. We use product requests like yours to help us determine what new products to develop in the future. I see there are a few models for the 2015 5.6L Titan, is that what you are using?
