  1. So I've looked around and had trouble shaking out all the details. I'm looking for any and all information on mounting a rear seat in a 2017 NV cargo or similar. Transit vs NV passenger seats? Quick release mounts? Is there ANY existing floor supports in a cargo that can be utilized for this purpose?
  2. Yes, we definitely need the extra height to stack dog crates and have room to sleep on top of them. The second seat will be made removable and will only actually be in the van on the rare occasion we have friends we need to haul around and our 3 other vehicles with 4+ seats aren't available for some reason. I could very easily install a rooftop A/C unit and later add duct work if necessary to get the airflow more even throughout the van. If putting the rear seat in is not considered an easy task, that is fine with me. I've done more fabricating and odd engineering around vehicles than most can even dream of. I once made a WRX rear wheel drive, and cryogenic treated the transmission gear set after removing it from the transmission JUST to see if I could do it all for under $300. And this was in January in Minnesota. I've added air to air fans to the same WRX intercooler ducting with an added auto water spray when above 3lbs of boost to decrease intake manifold temps 30 degrees while racing. And none of that includes the race only vehicles I've worked on and engineered solutions for. Including but not limited to mounting a movable seat to the floor after removing the seat supports inside to accommodate taller drivers.
  3. Has anyone here installed these higher amperage alternators? Any issues having to upgrade cabling to handle the extra load?
  4. Checking on this old thread. Any chance anybody has figured this out yet? We will be getting an NV cargo this weekend and I need to figure out something to cool the rear.
  5. We have dogs ranging from 7 lbs all the way up to almost 50 lbs, and everything in between with a little bit of everything in terms of breeds.
  6. Thanks radin2son, I'll search for the dog hauling posts here!!! Lucky for me, I have a full shop and do everything myself. The only thing I can't do is any coding that would require a dealer diagnostic tool. But I am close enough to STL that I should be able to find an appropriate dealer if required.
  7. Hey everybody!!! My wife and I just sold our Ford Transit Connect and will be looking to buy an NV cargo in the coming weeks. No kids but we have 13 dogs to haul around which is the reason for the upgrade. We will be looking at a cargo high roof 2017 or newer to take advantage of the 7 speed transmission with a V8. Eventually I will be mounting a single rear bench seat in it to haul friends around if needed. Will probably be outfitting it with an on board generator and roof top air conditioner for the doggies. Might as well throw some outlets in there at the same time...
