Out of curiosity, did you check Nissans list of compatible phones. Not that it really matters as the list was last updated in 2012. Just a complete joke of a so called technology package. Rick.

Newbie Towing and Tongue Weight Questions
RICK replied to breto33's topic in Cargo, Hauling & Towing
The basket hitch is something I use to use with my older vans. I carried excess equipment when needed but never exceeded the 500# limit on the tounge weight. Here is what I suggest is to have a shop that does custom hitches and welding make you up a double 2" receiver socket speread about the same distance as the frame. The 2.5" square tubing will allow a 2" receiver to insert into the square openings. Of course this requires real precision to aling the double sockets to the receiver, but it will work and support your load. Of course depending on the overhang and bottom ground clearance, driveways might be an issue. Of course the weight of the custom basket might be an issue to lift into place too. But it can also be set up as a modular design with hitch pins to join the crossbars. A little creativity and welding, you'll be set. Rick. -
My 2014 drops it sporadically. But for the most part I loose the bluetooth when a second call comes through. It drops the bluetooth and I need to swap over to speakerphone. I still can't figure out why it doesn't show the caller id on the incoming, but it does show it on the outgoing calls. And of course I loose the gps when on the bluetooth phone, but if I switch to speakerphone, I can use the gps. Your 2015 and my 2014 are 2 different units. Rick.

I also have the seat belt issue too when shifting from drive into park or neutral. Plus I still have the drivers seat belt issue too. Today my electric locks with the key fob stopped working altogether. As if the battery died. Took out the battery and put it back together and it still wasn't working. Then later it came back alive. Can't imangine a dead key fob battery in 8 months and 3700 miles. Rick.

Carrie, I have the same seatbelt issues with both the passenger and more importantly the drivers. I've opened a case only to be frustrated by the fact that don't return calls and have gone through 2 more so called reps. I'm on my 3rd rep and waiting to take my van into service so they can redocument the same findings and reorder the same parts. Yes my nav and bluetooth also suck along with the poor mpg. Problem is without my work truck/ NV, I loose over 1000.00 a day in lost income. It's not like my other passenger vehicles that they can keep for a week without an issue. And its not like they are going to give me a loaner van and transfer everything over including the shelving they had installed. Try telling your employer that you won't be in this week due to new car issues, most would be looking for a new job. Glad to see you're activily pursuing them and will get a fix. Keep us posted so that I we can follow from your lead. I've wasted countless hours on the phone and a days pay just to get air put in the tires. Nothing else they addressed or fixed. Rick

Sorry to hear about your problems, but its no surprise to me either. You've gotten much farther with the dealer and customer service than I have. Now that you have them on the hook for a new van, and they have corporate coming out to see it, let us know what they do. This has been a well talked about issue with this van. My 7 year old sprinter doesn't do it nor does my 2 year old traverse. Only my 6 month old NV cargo does this. Keep us posted and thanks for the video proof. Rick

The nav card is a waste of money if you have to pay for it. Even though its a 2015 card, it's actually written in early 2014. Doesn't upgrade any of the poor features in the cargo version. Supposedly in the passenger version it does. As far as visiting a new dealer, haven't had a chance to waste a day of work so they swap out the seatbelt that they still need to order. The radio navigation is something they will have to test and see if its my issue or the entire line of radios issues. All I know is this is the worst technology package ive ever had in a new vehicle. Mileage is a joke. Still waiting to break 200 miles on a fillup. Just last week I had an emergency call that I didn't get home fro till 1 am. Freeways were empty and honestly it was all downhill. Dam thing only showed me 12.5 mpg rolling downhill at 1am on the open freeway. Either everyone is stretching the truth about their good mileage, or mine is ready for the junkyard at 3700 miles. I will get some time to go to the dealer, but unless they can fix all the issues, I'll lose more money in the day off of work than ill save in better mileage. Gas is still $4.15 a gallon out here, and I average about 7mpg. Thats roughly .60 a mile just in fuel. You do the math. Rick.

Thanks Nv Envy for that solution. Can you tell me what model pioneer unit you went with? Does it integrate with the steering wheel controls? does the bluetooth have a seperate mic that doesn't make me sound like im in a tin can? Does it show caller id with the name of people entered on my phone book. Can you navigate and be on the phone at the same time? Self install or shop install? Whats the cost of the unit and needed accessories if you post it or message me. Thanks for your help. Rick.

The check from Nissan showed up in todays mail. That's the good news. The bad news is the 2015 sd card is actually written on 2/21/14. So its actually more than 16 months old. Did nothing for the navigation and bluetooth phone flaws. Might just show me were all the new fast food joints popped up since my 5/14 /2012 original card. Rick

Don't hold your breath. Last time the moderator checked in was june 8th. Sounds just like nissan commercial. Rick

Spam report sent this morning. Rick.

Vic did call me this morning and confirmed he got the email. Said the check is being processed for the sd card refund. Waiting for me to take the van in to the dealer to have them sort out my other issues. Rick.

If you compare it to a commercial flat roof, they use a combination of white or silver to reflect the sun/ heat. Not telling you to apply Henrys to your van, but it works at my shop with a flat roof in southern California. Rick.

The new Nissan Navigation card arrived today. Will install it tomorrow and see if it does any software upgrades. I emailed my receipt on the 30th and have not heard back from him. He did say that I will get reimbursed, but has not bothered confirming my email. It's like pulling teeth to get them to follow up. Rick

I got ahold of the local dealer service manager pretty easy this morning. I called at 7:57 am and was transferred to their voice mail box. At 8:32 am the service manager Brandi called me back. They need to look at the van before they can even order the seat belt. The gps and bluetooth is something they will look into. And will connect the computer to see why the mileage is so poor. I went online today to order the nav sd card, but have not gotten a promised email from Vic about reimbursement yet. Rick.

Actually the distance is based on nissans site if i was flying a helicopter. in reality the actual distance is 14 miles not 9 miles and 27 miles not the 21 nissan shows. they can't even figure out a proper map on their website. shows 7 nv dealers within 20 miles and 16 within 50 miles.Yet Vic can't make contact with a local dealer? Depending on the time of day/ traffic, a 27 mile trip can easily take 1 hour each way. problem is they need to look at the same stuff before they can even order the defective seat belt. so it will be another wasted 5 hours plus gas plus lost wages. the original dealer already has my required seat belt in stock now. not sure why they refuse to stock parts when they show over 30 nv's in stock at my dealer with only 1, 2015 and the rest 2014. i guess with all these dealers in the area, they can't give them away even with a $2,000 incentive from nissan. So Vic called me Today at 4:05. Once again no contact with the dealer he was trying to connect me with. So instead he spoke to a dealer 21 miles away. Considering there are 7 dealers within 17 miles, but he connected to a dealer 21 miles away. Dont know why. The dealer I was shooting for is right off the freeway 9 miles away. Ill try calling them tomorrow. Vic claims he can't get in touch with that service manager. Vic told me to purchase the newer navigation sd card and they will reinbuse me. I asked him to email me that in writing which he said he can't do. So basically, I need to purchase the card with the hope they will reimburse me like he said. Tomorrow is the last day of the $99.00 sd card sale. Still can't get a real answer on why the cargo sd card is different than the passenger sd card. Are they totally different navigation systems in the vans? How is it that Nissan customer service can't even contact one of their dealers for the last week or more? Amazing they are still in business with all these hoops im jumping through. Over 1 month and basically still in the same predicament. Rick.

No call from Vic today. In another week there will be real fireworks if they have no resolution. I started this thread 26 days ago and all I've gotten is a call from the 3rd customer service rep. The first 2 have moved on or up. But these issues have been going on since the first of the year. Rick

My original dealer spent 3 hours and at the end of the day they put air in the tires and still managed to lose the valve stem cap. Of course the items I brought it in for, they didn't fix. They claim they needed to order a new drivers seat belt. New door lock actuator. the sd card in the parts dept was a 2012 card delivered in 2015. When the Nissan cs rep called the service manager, he told them my mpg was because of the vans weight. Yet he has never seen my van and has no knowledge of what others are getting. On my bluetooth issues, he says its my phone, but has no idea what phone I have. Even nissans own website was last updated in 2012 for its bluetooth compatibility chart. Phone models change weekly and for nissan to be 3 years behind is not right. So the nissan cs rep is trying to contact another local dealer with no success. Both dealers have 20-30 nv's in stock, so they are both large operations. Spoke to my original salesman for assitance and he finally returned my call saying he was going to check into it. That was weeks ago and haven't heard back from him. Although he did tell me on a prior call several weeks after my purchase that the nav system/ bluetooth was not good and he was going to see about upgrading it. He spent 30 minutes in a nv and was just as frustrated with it as me. He uses his siri voice commands and not the bluetooth buttons. Rick.

You have a 2012 and probably a 2010 card that came with it. I have a 2014 with a 2012 card. But they are probably under the impression my 2014 has a current card, so to answer your question, no emails about a new card. But according to the nav website, only the passenger version has a software upgrade. Not the cargo version. What the heck is different between the 2 systems? Im not planning on buying a new card for a new van. I plan on them furnishing a new card for a new van. Nissan doesn't even handle the nav sd cards. Its a middle man distribution center. Rick.

Vic called me today as he had promised. Problem is no news. He hasn't been able to get a hold of the service manager at the new dealership. In his words, the service manager is harder to get ahold of than the president. Asked Vic to try and contact the original dealer where I purchased the van from. Lets see what friday has in store. Rick.
-
Vic didn't call today, but he did say yesterday that he might need another day to get a hold of the new dealer and make contact with the service manager who's been out. so no news, might still be good news. Rick

These figures are from the 2014 passengers owners manual.looks like the tounge weight numbers are slightly less. Rick.
-
Its located in your owners manual. On my 2014 3500 its 16,000 since I have the tow package. Non tow package equipped would be 13,500 . These figures are for the 3500 cargo van. Rick.

Just getting caught back up to speed with this thread. My 3500 v8 high roof nv is averaging anywhere from the mid 5's to mid7's not once have I broke the 200 mile range with 24-25 gallons of fuel. Waiting on many issues with Nissan to help resolve and mileage is 1 of them. Im carrying approx 2000# full time. My city driving is 75% and highway is 25%. My original 1999 w4500 chevy tilt cab with 14, 000# on it was getting better mileage with a much bigger body and payload. Same route in the same exact neighborhood. Rick.
