  1. I like your style. Keep us updated on your plans, trips, experiences. Kevin
  2. Nice looking. Any plans?
  3. Thanks, My windows are hinged at the top and don't slide. I wish they did slide.
  4. Sorry for the images being posted sideways. Don't know how that happened. They're correct in my computer. Kevin
  5. It's been awhile since I posted my progress. I've added lower aluminum panels, a folding bed/dinette, vented windows. Next on the list is an auxiliary power system consisting of two 330W 36V solar panels, controller, inverter/charger, and four batteries. All input is appreciated. Thanks
  6. Having a high roof model makes awnings enclosed in a zippered bag hard to use. Try Fiamma F35 Pro or their F45S. www.fiammausa.com. They retract into their own housing. Good luck.
  7. My van is a white hi roof with windows. I'll look for both of you while traveling.
  8. Radin2son, Thanks for the news on the going to the sun road. I'm planning on driving it around Sept. 18th.
  9. ASD Dad, Thanks for the leg work researching the Bully Dog. I'm looking forward to your follow up review.
  10. I was planing to replace the incandescent bulb with and LED while retaining the light fixture. Chris, odd question, Do you have a brother named Brian who lived in Springfield, MO?
  11. To me, using a stool is not a good idea. What if you are involved in an accident and the stool injures one of your kids. Maybe an automatic retractable step might be an option.
  12. Radin2son, It was a big change going from the Fuso to the NV. I believe my NV will offer enough off road abilities for 80% of how I would have used the Fuso. The NV has an indescribably better ride quality. I had to change my conversion plans. The biggest change is the deletion of a bath/toilet area. I added interior lower wall panels and side windows. I'll post pictures when completed. Hey, do you have any knowledge or advice on National Luna refrigeration units? Thanks.
  13. Hello, I'm wanting to change the incandescent cargo lights to LEDs. Has any one upgraded their interior lights? Will the LED's lower current draw cause a lamp out dash warning light? Thanks in advance.
  14. November of last year I purchased a new Mitsubishi Fuso FG with plans to build an RV platform. The truck was in the shop for 4 of the six months I owned it prior to the dealer buying it back. Three transmissions and 3 Bluetec exhaust filtration system failures. The truck traveled more miles on a flat bed than actual mileage driven. My NV has been great and I'm looking forward to many trouble free adventures.
  15. ASD Dad, You said you are going with an AFE dry filter but the link is for an AEM brand filter. Just FYI in case you misread the brand.
  16. Glad your trip went well. I read about NVs pulling 8,000 -9,000 pounds and I think they may pull that much weight, but won't be happy doing it! Cutting the four holes for my windows today. I'm always nervous when cutting the sheet metal of a new vehicle. I ordered a Fiamma Pro35 awning and enclosure room. I'm trying to get my van ready to travel.
  17. I'll be traveling to Glacier National Park mid September. Radin2son maybe we can meet out there. My son and I are going to Mt. Rushmore, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier on the way to Seattle, WA.
  18. Andy_George put me on the jealous list also. ASD Dad that's a sweet combination. Is your van white or silver? Looking forward to hearing about the maiden voyage. Good luck.
  19. Nice van! Happy travels. Please post pictures of your trip.
  20. After I have the 4 HEHR windows installed I'll live with the van to see if I want to add the sliding door upper window. My van came with the fixed rear door glass. My mileage was in 2 wheel drive. I'll check my 4 wheel drive mileage soon. HEHR's rear half of the passenger side rear window is vented. I'm eager to check the sliding door clearance. Do both of your lower glass sections open or just one? Try www.rbcomponents.com The dinette/bed is about $650 delivered. Thanks, I'll look at the Skeeterbeater front window screens. I have the Nissan side window vent visors, so I'm not sure if the screens will fit. I increased my vehicles insured value to cover the additional investment of the aftermarket 4x4. Do you have an upper bed in your pop up area? Any advise on a side awning? So far no issues with my 265/70/17 size tires. Did your SMB come with 245/75/17s? Brand of tire? Sorry for all the questions but there aren't a lot of NV owners to ask advice. Thanks, Kevin
  21. Hello, This weekend I traveled 350 miles round trip to pick up a 1,000 lbs. workout gym and the van performed great. I weight didn't change the van's performance or handling. Fuel mileage stayed the same (15.9MPG ). Two ways to view the mileage, The van didn't decrease it's mileage due to the weight or I'm getting the mileage of a loaded van even when empty. I'm going with the more positive spin of the mileage didn't worsen. I've ordered 4 HEHR brand awning windows with screens (I didn't order the upper window in the sliding door). I also ordered a folding dinette/bed from RB Components. I'll post images when they are installed. Thanks, Kevin
  22. Hello, Has any one installed factory mounts and passenger seats in the rear of a cargo van? All thoughts welcome. Thanks
  23. Lake of the Ozarks is great. Be aware if your boat is small enough to be trailered you need to take care around the larger boats. I have spent more time at Tablerock Lake (Southwest Missouri. Branson area). Less developed, better fishing, skiing, and the waves are more manageable for 30' and less boats. Contact me if you are in my area or need assistance. Kevin
  24. Picked the van up Friday and drove 13.5 hours home. Great vehicle! Looking forward to building the interior. I'll post when progress is made.
