  1. Thanks for the information. So with the load you carry for work the Timbrens are always in contact and they raised your rear ride height by 1 1/2"? Continually being in contact didn't change ride quality?
  2. Nice images and report. Thanks
  3. Merry Christmas to everyone, Kevin
  4. Boy I remember the days of car seats, cribs, toys, dipper bags. It takes a box truck just to haul all the crap kids need. I'd go back and do it again in a heartbeat! Enjoy the moment.
  5. FYI, I have 12,000 miles on my Quigley 3500 with 265/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs. Vehicle, 4x4, and tires have performed above my expectation.
  6. The silver 4x4 NV titled "Kodiak" had a larger fuel tank made by a company in Portland, OR. I can't remember the company's name.
  7. ASD Dad,What did you do with your Airraid kit?

    NV Survey

I received a postcard asking for my participation in a NV survey sponsored by Morpace. All of the questions pertained to the transmission. Questions like how often do you drive in reverse? How fast and far in reverse? Do you use manual down shifting?, Type of road surface driven? Nothing about the rest of the drivetrain or any other aspect of the van. Any one else receive this survey? http://s.morpace.com/m150689
  9. I have a 2014 3500 high roof cargo with the Quigley 4x4. My vehicle has 10,000 miles and not a single issue! The Quigley system is flawless! My advice is to buy new and enjoy many worry free adventures. Good luck
  10. I considered the Transit but it was too van like. Choosing one make over others doesn't reflect negatively on the other models. If I need to plow a field, I'd choose a Clydesdale over a Shetland but they are both nice horses.
  11. I just noticed I'm six likes away from making the leader board! And on a totally separate topic I wanted to take the time to say that: 1. radin2son 2. Chris_CommercialManager 3. ASD Dad 4. andy_george 5. Tatunka 6. axulsuv are really great guys! Can you guess which member is adjusting to the free time retirement brings?
  12. Beautiful work! After you finished trimming the hardboards did you trace patterns I may copy? Thanks
  13. If you watch the TV show "American Pickers" you will see Ford sponsors the show and they drive a new Transit. But if you watch closely the camera crew drives a high roof NV. My guess it's for the hauling/towing capabilities.
  14. "Girly Euro-vans" Crack me up! Ironically, all the reasons why I chose the NV are the same reasons "Girly men" rate it lower. "Too truck like, too rough of a ride, too sparse of an interior, too big of an engine, too long of a nose, too heavy". Nissan should reclassify the NV as a truck with a fully enclosed accessible bed.

    Head bumper or not

Curious, How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and have never hit my head. I'll guarantee I'd hit my head if I removed it.

    Head bumper or not

My guess is you are right. It's to prevent injury if you bump your head. My 2014 high roof has it.

    Solar charging?

Wollip, I have my service battery's negative and I charged my system using a male accessory plug. It's negative is also connected to location C. The 250 and smartpass are mounted to the removable battery cover mounted over the passenger rear wheel well.
  18. "Good Enough" You are selling your skills short! Nice job. I'll copy your plan.
  19. Nicely done. I was wondering, does the receiver extend beyond the front bumper? Also, A step installed might help when servicing the engine bay. Thanks for the post and images.
  20. I'm just guessing it's a typo. Shouldn't all the payload ratings that are 2,xxx lbs. be 3,xxx lbs.

    Solar charging?

You're welcome. I wish I could have explained it better. I looked at the space under the sliding door as a permanent battery location. Would using an automotive style rolling floor jack aid in removing your batteries? Just a thought.

    Solar charging?

Radin2son, I'm trying my best to help. This reminds me of the classic "Who's on first" comedy skit. First, I was trying to determine if your two batteries were wired in series or parallel so I could correctly answer your question. Second, because I wasn't able to determine the answer from your response I asked if your system is 12 or 24 volts because that too would answer my question. Since I'm not sure how your van is wired all I can answer is: If the two batteries are wired in parallel you will have 12VDC and you connect the solar panel leads as follows: Positive lead to the positive terminal on either battery and negative lead to the negative terminal on the same battery. If the two batteries are wired in series you will have 24VDC and you connect the solar panel leads as follows: Positive lead to the positive terminal on the second battery and the negative lead to the first battery's negative terminal. That's all I got! Good luck

    Solar charging?

Quick question, You have two 12VDC batteries and you want twice the capacity or do you want 24VDC with the same capacity?
