  1. Just an FYI to all interested. I just got off the phone with Quigley and they are working with Nissan to allow the newer model to have a useable two speed transfer case. Quigley says they want to use the newer Titan transmission, transfer case and front drive system to allow use of the hi-lo ranges and as of now it's not heavy duty enough to handle the NV. Currently the Quigley conversion uses a front drive system that is heavier duty than the Titan. He said "We have the new 7 speed transmission and two speed transfer case sitting in our shop and we are working on it. Call back in 6 month and see where we are at". Also just an FYI, my van does have a two speed transfer case but Quigley/Nissan chose to install a removable bracket blocking the lever travel. Why? Quigley said it's because of two reasons: 1. While in low range, wheel slip causes the van to go into "limp" mode. 2. Nissan was concerned a low range would "promote" vehicle use that the NV was not designed for which may cause vehicle damage that the warranty would have to cover.

  3. Edgar, I see you are in Orlando, FL. I'm retired and will work with you. I'll buy two one way tickets on Allegiant Airlines from Orlando to Springfield so you can bring someone along, Pick you both up at the airport, and pay for two hotel rooms. Or I can drive the van to Orlando then I'll fly home if time off is an issue for you. Lowering the price by a grand or so isn't going to significantly impact my life and allows me to begin a new project. If you are seriously interested in my van then there is a deal to be made! Thanks, Kevin
  4. My guess: Heater core. https://www.factorynissanparts.com/parts/2013/Nissan/NV3500/S/?siteid=214081&vehicleid=393398&section=HVAC&group=HEATER Nissan Genuine Factory Part Part Number: 271401PA0A
  5. The windows are made by HEHR. They are awning style (hinged at the top) with screens. http://www.nissanvanwindows.com/page2.html Thanks for the very valid points pro and con about my van. What price makes it a "smoking hot deal" that gets you on that plane? Thanks again, Kevin
  6. Thanks, guys. Be honest, Do you think I have my van priced fair? Thanks, Kevin Oh, and don't think you're getting rid of me just because I'm selling my van!
  7. I haven't changed any of the Nissan standard 3500 SV options that can be found at www.nissancommercialvehicles.com. I had the dealer add window vent shades, a hood deflector, and all weather floor mats. I posted several pictures earlier under the conversion section titled "Cargo to Camper Conversion". Let me know if you need additional info. Thanks
  8. I'm selling my van then build a small SUV for off road fun and pull it behind my Toterhome. My wife prefers better accommodations while camping. She says "Why would I want to sleep in a van with out a bathroom when we have a nice Motorhome in our garage"? She has a point and I'm becoming tired of going exploring solo. 16,XXX miles $32,000 I'll run an Autotrader ad next week but thought I'd post here today. Thanks, Kevin
  9. There was a professional photographer at the event so I didn't take any pictures.
  10. Still here. Trip and NV were great. The Northwoods Rendezvous Two was a blast.
  11. Here is a little info on the pics. First Post Pictures: 1-4. Battery Box with four 100Ah batteries has a 800W inverter and a toggle switch controlled small LED to see plug and CTEK at night. The box has a harness connecting it to the CTEK/Van. Next to the harness connector on the van is a 40A master disconnect and circuit breaker combo. The box can also function as an independent power source with out the van. 5. Pelican Cooler ties down on the battery box making it easier for an oldster like me to reach the bottom. 6-8. Booth to bed conversion. Second Post Pictures: 1. Marine grade switch panel with 6 switches each with 15A circuit breakers. Installed on the rear side of sliding door opening. the six switches control: 1. dome light, 2. reading lights, 3. big window fan, 4. small over door fan, 5. extra, 6. and soon to be installed outside flood lights. 2. Small oscillating fan above slider. 3. Accessory panel with 15A circuit breaker. Has a cigarette plug and two USB. Installed on drivers side above where the two windows meet. 4. Two goose neck reading lights. The one shown is on the drivers side front side window and the second is where the two windows join for a small light over the table. 5. Dome light with white or red LEDs. 6. Solar Panel. Kyocera 140W 12VDC. Panel width matches the distance between NV rack mounts. 7. Solar Panel Plug. I used a watertight marine trolling motor plug/receptacle. Allows me to remove the panel quickly. I think thats it.
  12. I don't know why my pictures don't stay in the correct orientation. Sorry.
  13. A few more images of the new items I've installed.
  14. I've mentioned before that my van is odd in that every camping item is designed to be removed. Leaving for MN Thursday and thought I'd post images of my van set up for camping.
  15. Perfect Red Green project. Now I feel better about my "improvements". I wonder how they close the rear window when the fan isn't needed? Converting my van into a camper for a trip to MN. I'll post pics later today.

    NV Question

I'm putting the RV parts into my van getting ready for a trip to MN. I have 4 100Ah batteries and a 98 quart cooler in the rear. I really felt the restriction and I agree pulling out while towing could be scary dangerous!
  17. I missed your introduction. Sorry for the late welcome. I'm with you and ASD Dad. I can't stand the cruise. I apply throttle at the bottom of the hill to keep it from slowing. Annoying.
  18. You're welcome. And FYI: Cart Kart :)
  19. Bamps, You really went wild with your new vehicle color. Switching from Avalanche to Arctic white was a bold move. I'm a white vehicle guy too. DesertTed, Try using a drill bit depth guide to limit bit travel beyond the hole depth? It's what I did just to feel safer about drilling. They are available as a single size bit or as slide on collars. also if all the holes are the same depth, a simple piece of small rigid tubing cut to the hole depth length slid over the bit will perform the same function. Good luck!

    NV Question

I believe it's less than 20 mph throttle response is limited by the computer. I'm not sure how to explain but when you accelerate hard (wide open throttle) the van hesitates or doesn't increase it's effort even though you have the throttle wide open until 20 mph then it takes off normal. Makes it real hard to win burn out contests! andy_george, how do like your KLR 250 Dual sport? I think thats about the size I'd like to mount to my van.

    NV Question

Thanks ASD Dad. You by chance have the part/model number of what worked for you? I live on a 55 mph highway and when I pull out the restriction causes a delay before I'm able to accelerate to highway speed.
  22. Did someone post awhile back a way to delete the throttle limitation under 20mph? Is it associated with wheel spin? Thanks, Kevin
  23. Try Heyco. They have quality products. www.heyco.com Heyco.pdf
  24. Nice project. Your skills have produced a quality build. Thanks for sharing. What solar system are you using and how is it wired to the vehicle and service battery bank?
  25. Looks good Bamps. Could you take a picture of what you see with the camera. I'd like to compare the field of view and quality to stock. Thanks
