  1. Can't help you with a source for parts but the factory navigation unit is crap. Pick an aftermarket unit. You mentioned Aluminess, have you called and asked if they have any factory parts owners left behind? Good luck
  2. To me it's an industry standard because they only have to cover about 47,000 actual miles driven when ones 50,000 mile warranty expires.
  3. Timbrens are not designed to be in contact with the frame under normal loads. A shock absorbing bump stop eases the impact when your suspension becomes over loaded from the combination of the temporary heavy load and a force on the suspension (bump). If your daily load is enough to cause a correct length Timbren to be in contact, you need to improve the suspension with better springs or an air bag system.
  4. My screen cracked when I was camping at Glazier National Park. I too need a aftermarket replacement and want to keep my tech package features also. My Nissan dealer said they would swap out the unit for an exact replacement. No Thanks! The factory unit is junk.
  5. BraapRider, I think you're asking me. My bed also makes a booth and folds against the wall. I mounted it to my lower tie down track so I can remove it. You can find my bed and other folding furniture at www.rbcomponents.com or search for toyhauler furniture. I did drill holes to install my upper tie down track. My lower is attached to my wall panels.
  6. I have had good luck with my tie downs.
  7. Try: www.factorynissanparts.com Good luck.
  8. I'm happy with the 5.6's horsepower and torque.. I'd prefer they invest R&D into improving our fuel mileage, not increases to horsepower and torque.
  9. This is going to come across as a smart ass answer but it's not! Thanks to everyone for being upfront about their interest in a meet up. I'm glad we didn't waste time with plans only to find out later the interest wasn't there. Maybe after more people learn what a great vehicle the NV is will create more forum participants. Thanks, Kevin
  10. I haven't installed an awning yet. I'm trying to decide between the Fiamma F45s and a bat wing style awning. Looking forward to photos. Thanks, Kevin
  11. I thought I'd bump this thread. I'm still interested in a meet up this year. Any one want to begin making long range plans? Maybe we can begin with a list of participants and their location(s) and date(s) preferences. Name: KMG Locations: 1. Springfield, MO 2. Upper Michigan 3. Anywhere in Colorado Dates: April to October.
  12. I have a 3500 Quigley 4x4 with 265/70/17 Goodyear Duratrac. They have a section width of 10.7" and a tread width of 8.7". The stock 245/75/17 Firestone Transforce have a section width of 9.8" and a tread width of 7.7". I increased my tire width for traction (and looks) with little increase to the tire circumference maintaining a correct odometer reading. This may sound odd but I think my odometer is more accurate with the larger size. May have to do with the 2 different size tires the 2500 and 3500 come stock with. Just a guess. FYI, my sliding door clears.
  13. Have a safe trip and enjoy the time with your daughter!
  14. Chris, Have you heard a high roof cargo model with a chambered muffler? I was wanting to know if it will have a continuous droning sound at highway speeds. I bought a Dodge Ram with a straight piped Cummins. The highway drone caused me to stop 200 miles into my first trip to have a muffler installed. Thanks
  15. It shows you "liked" my last post and sent me a notification but click it again just to make sure.
  16. Chris, You may be thinking of my van. I installed a Fan-Tastic exhaust fan to my driver's rear side awning window.
  17. Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great trip. Topping a hill in 3rd gear always makes me feel like a piston is going to come shooting thru the hood!
  18. Lets find out. Click on my post and we will see.
  19. Wollip's advice is great. I also suggest using the hole saw to cut a hole in a scrap piece of 3/4" plywood. Use the plywood hole as your template to aid in keeping the hole saw in place while cutting the roof. Also, I'd drill the pilot hole from the inside to insure correct placement then drill with the hole saw from the rooftop. Good luck. Don't forget to take a few pics.
  20. So how many times are you going to measure before you make the first cut?
  21. Mahu, I like the round vent. Easy to install. Going to get one for my dog's igloo style doghouse. Thanks
  22. Great Idea! Really changes the look.
  23. Try www.rvcenter.com. Part number:17511-C1G Might be the same unit Wollip suggested. Good luck.
