  1. Awesome, another blue one! :-) We did a factory order and waited nearly 5 months to receive it back in Fall 2015. Enjoy!!
  2. Is that a blue NV?!? We have never seen a blue one in the wild apart from our own!! :-)
  3. Does anyone on the forum have armrests and could take a peek under the cushion of the driver's seat? I got the armrests including bolts, but they did not come with any nut/mechanism to attach the armrest/bolt to. The Nissan diagrams don't show any other parts belonging to the armrests, so I am struggling to find out how they are attached to the seat. Any feedback on this would be fantastic!
  4. The SMB conversion added 1000lb? interesting. I was expecting to come in around 8000 with the humans, dog, and water and packed for the road trip, but I must have underestimated the weight of the wood we put in as that is the main component besides appliances. We are at 8400lb and equal reserve on the front and rear axle. Without water, propane, humans, dog and baggage we should be around 7600lb which I feel is a good weight for storage during the winter.
  5. Stopped by a CAT scale and our V6 high roof with two humans a dog, 100 lb of water, propane, filled to the brim for a 3 months road trip, and the conversion itself, we are coming in at 8400lb. On the steeper grades gotta keep the foot down to stay at 65mph but can still easily pass the semis. Gas mileage at 60mph on the freeway is still at 18mpg, but down to 14-15mpg going up any kind of mountain.

    Seat covers?

we just bought these last week. they fit really well, nice texture too and stay on really well getting in an out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Y29MS6G/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  7. 7 months of work over the course of 13 months in 2016 and 2017. Did the finishing touches today. Now it's time to clean the condo and then off to Alaska. Here a small sample. For a full build thread visit this imgur album: imgur.com/a/r9foW
  8. finishing touches. backsplash, cabinet door knobs, and faucet are installed. pretty much ready to hit the road by the end of next week.
  9. pulled up the plastic back on the passenger seat. first pull the middle connectors then carefully bend it up so you can get the bottom hooks to let go. top connection is still attached, no way to get that off as it involves metal clamps. it's off enough to be able to work behind it to install the arm rest. what in the world was nissan thinking? this cover is installed ready to survive a nuclear blast...insane. attached some pics.
  10. Ordered both driver and passenger armrests. Will let you know how/if they install.
  11. Been trying to pull the plastic back off to get a look at the seat frame underneath to see if I can install NV1500 armrests. No luck. I simply can not get it off: First tried pulling it up as the schematics show downward facing hooks. Was able to slide it up about 1-2 inches but it feel like the attachment points at the top are not moving. Then I tried brute force but apparently I need to hit the gym more....I didn't even care about damaging it at that point. This thing ain't coming off..: Any recommendations?
  12. So, I just looked at the seat structure under the foam of the driver's side seat and it looks like it has the required holes to install the NV1500 arm rests. All one would need to do is remove the foam, which is already pre cut and easily removable, and then make a small hole in the fabric to stick the bolt through. I am unsure about the passenger seat as I was unable to get under the fabric and foam. For this one would have to remove the back plastic cover. I was able to pull it upwards for about 2 inches but it still wouldn't come off. Has anyone succeeded in taking it off? And can anyone confirm that the passenger seat in the NV2500 does have the same holes as the NV1500 allowing attachment of the arm rests?
  13. I assume one cannot install armrests from the NV1500 onto the seats of a NV2500/3500? https://www.tascaparts.com/oe-nissan/877501pc1a?origin=pla&gclid=CKG21OGl4tQCFc6XfgodkaEIwQ
  14. Has anyone found some aftermarket armrests to attach to the frame of the seat? We removed the middle console to a) make room for the dog and b) to install a swivel for the passenger seat. Am hoping I can buy and adapt some arm rests rather than fabricate them myself from scratch. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!!
  15. So, with the central wire pass thru the cables for seat beld detector and airbag are long enough to accommodate the swivel of the seat? Thanks!!
  16. How did you solve the wiring issue? I spoke to David Anderson today (rarely on this forum but a lot of people know his "Magic" video showcasing a converted NV2500) and he said he had to permanently disconnect the wires coming up from the floor under the seat as they are too short to accommodate a swiveling chair. He said as a result the "seat belt warning light" remains on, which in itself wouldn't bother me too much. However, from the schematics I looked at and following the path of cable strand under the passenger seat, the wires also connect to the passenger side airbag. See the attached photo. So, any input you'd have on this would be most welcome!! A) Are the wires long enough to accommodate swiveling and B) If not, how did you solve that problem? We took the console out today to make room for our golden retriever Mango who is getting too big to be a lap dog. So we figured we might as well get the SwivelRus adapter and be able to turn the passenger seat around. Thanks for any feedback on the wire issue!!
  17. Service manager at Future Nissan in Roseville was telling me that they are considering stretching it 12-14 inches. Apparently that's the most requested change by commercial operators. Who know if/when they'd implement that change.
  18. colors are on and 2 out of 3 clear coat. One more clear tomorrow morning and then some touch up. Coming along nicely. 10 days until we set out for Alaska.
  19. Thanks! We are still waiting on our 13 gallon freshwater tank from national tank outlet. We use a shureflow pump and accumulator which connects to the faucet. Pretty straight forward. I'll post photos when it's set up. :-)
  20. After a record winter and ski season in Tahoe we are back at it and finishing up the conversion. Snow plow damage is fixed and the van looks as good as new. If anyone needs work on their high roof go to Collision Pros in Auburn. They fit the van in their paint booth by deflating the tires a bit. Great service. Also Future Nissan in Roseville has a great service department. Look for Chris. Propex heater is in and so is the water pump. Cabinet shelving is build. Paiting shelfs this weekend. Scheduled depature for Alaska after July 4th.
  21. definitely goes 100+ ;-)
  22. I had a quick question about Nissan dealerships with their own body and paint shop. We have some body and paint damage following an unfortunate encounter with a snow plow. Their insurance is paying. We have been trying to get estimates from various independent body shops recommended by Nissan dealerships in our area, however none of them can accommodate the high roof NV in their paint booth or are unfamiliar about how to repaint and clear coat in areas around the rubber sealant between the large side panels. The estimates we have gotten range from $1200 to $3400. Damage is a dent in the rear driver's side column next to the door, scratches on the hinges, and a scratch on the large side panel on driver's side. And busted tail light. The issue every body shop seems to have is about how to clear coat the side panel since on each side it has that rubber seal and thus doesn't have a clear edge at which to end the clear coat. Some have suggested to clear coat over the seals ie the full length from the back to the driver side door. Are there Nissan dealerships that have their own body shop and paint shop which would be more familiar with repairing and repainting the NV specifically? We called about a half dozen or so in NorCal but none of them do their own work. Thank you very much!
  23. Hi everyone, Happy New Years. So with all the crazy snow up here in Tahoe the plows have been doing extra shifts, and one of them apparently doesn't know how big his shovel is. He busted the rear drivers side lights, scraped the hinges, put a significant dent into the rear corner panel and scraped paint off. Question: Since the inside is converted how difficult will it be to replace the full tail light? What do the mechanics need to get to? In terms of that dent. How will they fix that? Strip paint of the panel, fill in the dent and repaint? Or will they need to replace that whole panel, which would probably be impossible with the conversion on the inside. Thanks for your feedback!
  24. We'll see if this elicits any response from Nissan of Reno. https://www.yelp.com/review_share/1I3SK8xjnI5-_k0dsVL0ZA/review/n21yPWt-Qj6n1-GPdonG-A
