  1. You are a long way from SLC. I always thought Advanced and Quigley divided up the country along the 100th meridian. What does Advanced say the issue may be if you tried contacting them. If your “peeps” can’t get this resolved and you are not too far from Charlotte, contact Scott Clark Nissan. They did a quick, thourough repair on our our NV on a trip through the area. We also stopped by to see Chris Nagy, the Commercisl and Fleet Manager. He used to contribute to the forum.
  2. Tesla and MB teaming up to produce the eSprinter? Why not a NVe? Not sure what the utility value would be...
  3. Welcome. Be sure to post photos of your NV and travels. Most wish there were more posts; snooze is the norm. Otherwise, it is a good forum with a knowledgeable core group.
  4. Anyone seen “Calling all Titan Owners?” Since September, Nissan has been matching contributions to various organizations. The current project is the National Parks Association. The reason Nissan focused on Titan owners is that they are more oriented to the outdoors. Really? Does Nissan Corp even know they make NVs? I digress, back to improvements. How about a “stop-start” feature for NVs. RAM eTorque, among other things, has this and fuel savings are significant for city driving.
  5. Welcome. We have seen a quite few NV 200 conversions in our travels. Most were basic to fit the owner’s needs unlike the UK where they look like VW campers. We had our NV serviced in Grand Prairie. Spent the night at the park near the Nissan dealership. It also was our first encounter with putting a coin in a slot to liberate a shopping cart the next day.
  6. No significant changes in 7 years, even considering the new V8 and transmission. Most of us don’t think lack of change is a bad thing, but lack of improvements (diesel, extended van etc.) is another story. If Nissan plans to compete, they probably will have to go with a Eurovan, perhaps one already in production on a “world” platform. Or get out of producing large vans...
  7. Rahv, You could, but why? For simplicity’s sake, leave the vehicle battery/alternator alone. Ford makes/made a bracket to mount the house batteries to the frame, yet E series owners put them under the floor in the back. DIY conversions have the batteries inside and rely on solar charging. No need to connect to the vehicle battery. Check with other conversion specific forums to get answers. There just is not that much interest on this forum. You have yet to disclose what vans and floor plans you are considering and when you hope to reside in Canada. This would make for more interesting posts than just asking questions... It would also let others on this forum, who have owned Chevys etc, to offer help and/or opinions.
  8. Welcome. No reason to worry about those miles with NVs. Enjoy your rides... Thanks for listing the price. That is inline with the estimated residual value (53%) after 5 years.
  9. Need to add that my wife’s dream car was a Sunbeam Alpine. There also was the Sunbeam Tiger. Our first car was a new ‘67 VW beetle. Dreams of a different variety...
  10. Anyone notice the NV 300 at the Brussels’ auto show? A prototype, but another eurovan or is that a world van.
  11. Was an NV in your dreams? No way, probably. But what was? Mine was a Land Rover Defender that I would drive from Alaska to Cape Horn, the tip of South America. Bought a well used 1962 that had spent its life in India. Somehow it ended up in Tucson in the ‘70s. Dream still on. Not exactly. Family first. I still have the dream, but it may be in our NV or not... In 2013, we did the northern section, Tucson to Alaska to San Diego to Tucson. What brought this on? adventure-journal.com has an article and video in Overlandia about Land Rovers and Range Rovers. Then there was the 1967 Porsche 911...
  12. Specifically, what type of maintenance was missed? Does this mean 30/60/90k recommended service should be mandatory? Not cheap, but I have done this. Wonder if this will matter in the long run or does it fall into the can’t hurt... I don’t have the manual in front of me, but coolant maintenance is important. If you change the coolant before the recommended mileage, you have to replace it on a different schedule.
  13. Welcome. Sales in Canada must be increasing. Love the name... Actually, NV yearly sales in Canada increased from 515 (‘16) to 753 (‘17). As of November, ‘18 year to date sales was 775. In the US, NV sales totaled 16,902 in ‘18 down from 17,858 in ‘17. Go figure why...
  14. The other day my daughter asked me about this national park. Normally I don’t take photos of parking lots, but the “red jammers” made me do it. Can you find our NV?
  15. MPG more than likely is viewed differently between private/trades owners and fleet owners, where keeping NVs on the road for 200-500k is paramount. Periodically, we consider a 4x4 conversion. Poor mpg is not a deterrent. Kilgar says it best. “It sure is nice to have when you do need it.”
  16. There always are trade offs. Nissan Corp seems to be putting all their resources into everything except NVs.
  17. I’ve tried this but it hasn’t always worked.
  18. NVs can average 15 mpg. We have to assume this NV was properly serviced by the previous owner. Tuned? Has anyone done anything except oil and recommended service? I now know where Abbotsford, BC is. Beautiful area. How often is 4x4 needed?
  19. Ketchbaw, Thanks for the clarification. Have they built any? I just looked at Avondale Nissan. No mention of 4x4 conversions, so TD Nissan may be the only dealer doing this.
  20. The web site, quigley4x4.com under news, says development is near completion and to check back in November, 2018 or contact a sales rep for more info. When you dig a little deeper, the model guide doesn’t specify a model year. So they may be taking orders. You can still access the Nissan Blue Pass Moab video from their Nissan drop down menu.
  21. Andy, 2x4 right? All we need now is for Mahu to jump in with his V6 mpg, but we do eNVy the V6 mpg.
  22. There you go. It is interesting that Advanced is converting 2017 NVs. Quigley was still working on development as of 9/5/2018.
  23. Check expeditionportal.com for Quigley mpg. An example is a ‘98 Ford V10 that gets 9 mpg off road, 9.5 mpg road and 10 mpg highway at 65/70 mph. Although set up differently than yours, you may be able to search for a stock V10 to compare the 2 Fords. Under the above post was the comment: “If you want 15 mpg, don’t buy a Ford E350.” Another essentially said buy a diesel.
  24. 15 mpg for a V8 is unrealistic for mixed city/highway driving. 9-10 mpg may seem low but others have reported this. With these trucks, you get what you get no matter how you drive it. Think instead about your NV in terms of what it offers in interior capacity and safety. Is there a Quigley owner’s forum where you can check real mpg? You may have to compare other van pre/post conversions if no NVs are included.
  25. Until the very end of your post, where you mentioned 4x4, I was all set to do the usual mpg post. I think KMG posted his average mpg for a trip from Missouri to Washington State in his NV 3500 high top camper conversion. I don’t recall any other 4x4 owners posting mpg. Since it is a Quigley conversion, call them and see what mpg they got on their NVs and what other owners are saying. Does Quigley have an owners forum? Let us know what you find.
