  1. Interesting, thanks for the info. I'll have to pay attention to see if I notice the limiter.... Love the KLR. It's no powerhouse, but it's light, dependable as gravity, comfortable enough, and cheap to find parts for since it was essentially unchanged for like 18 years or something. Unfortunately, about 2 miles from home on a gravel road, last fall, I had a deer jump out right in front of me. I got all busted up, but healed well. Progressive insurance totaled the bike, but my brother bought it from me, fixed up up with eBay parts, and it's going strong to this day!
  2. Not sure I understand here..... What exactly do the stock NVs limit under 20mph?
  3. Just got it replaced. $299. Looks good with no distortion, and all the trim looks as it should, so I'm happy.
  4. Glad to hear your all fine. So sad that there are so many drivers who care so little about actually driving their cars.
  5. I look at auto news quite regularly, and always find future product plans interesting. I've never heard of any insider info about the next generation of the NV, but I have a simple guess that seems to make sense to me. Now, I probably can't guess which pair of underwear I'll wear tomorrow, so this is a big step for me, but time will tell if I'm right on or way off! I'm guessing the next NV shares the new Titan platform. And also much of the same body from the B-pillar forward, so the same front doors, hood, fenders, and grill. Similar to how the old Ford Super Duty and the Excursion were similar, just with different cabin space behind the front seats. The new Titan already borrows heavily from the NV chassis, but with an improved drivetrain. This would cut down on development cost and time a lot, no doubt. It would take away some of the NVs trademark character, like the nearly perfectly vertical side windows, because the Titan has the typical "tip-in" as the greenhouse goes upward, but overall it could be made quite cool looking. And as I've said before, it would give the NV the Cummins diesel, which would be so cool for so many people. I'd love to see an NV chassis cab, diesel, with boxes on the back, or made into class C motorhomes, etc. Time will tell! I do love our NV as it is though, and probably wouldn't upgrade until it's worn out anyways. But it's always fun to watch the product planners... -Andy
  6. Not sure if it was OEM or aftermarket glass. Good question, I'll have to ask. I'd be very surprised if aftermarket affects the warranty....
  7. Btw, that was a quote from a glass shop with installation, not just the glass price.
  8. I had checked earlier in the year and it was around $400 for me. I just got a huge new rock chip and top-to-bottom crack, so I'll know the price again in a couple weeks....
  9. Thanks rad. It is big, 25' long and 8' wide, but it's all aluminum so it only weighs around 3000lbs. Pulls real nice....
  10. Thanks for the photo flip! I'm assuming the forum doesn't like my iPhone, but that's just a guess...
  11. I sure would. Probably be good for another 200,000 trustworthy miles yet.... If the used market existed for the NV when we needed a van, that's exactly what I would have been looking for. But they were just too new at that time....
  12. The wife and I, along with our 4 beautiful girls, are heading out from Mid-Michigan Monday, heading to NE Nebraska to visit her side of the family. Taking the cargo trailer to bring some furniture back from my wife's Folks house. Taking I-80 for the majority of the route. If anyone sees us, I'm hoping we are right-side-up, unlike every picture I post to this forum!
  13. I agree with the ride and handling comments. The NV drives much more like a 3/4ton pickup than a 1/2 ton, and it's light years ahead of the GM vans in terms of handling, steering, and braking. It's really not comparable to the Transit, the focus is so completely different. I considered both, seriously, even going so far as to email Mike Levien (spelling?) the former editor of pickuptrucks.com and current Ford Truck PR guy, and said I wanted a Transit if only they could tow, and he nicely replied that they weren't designed with any serious towing in mind, but he hoped I'd end up with a Transit anyhow. Needless to say we went with the NV, and I have zero doubts it was the right choice for us.
  14. Good call on the brand of the stock truck, upside down, you must be a bit of an expert! It's our supply truck for our food concession business. Soooo much nicer than jumping into the back of a pickup topper, and with a commercial drivetrain I hope to be using it when I retire in 30 years! (Sorry they are still inverted..... I flipped the pics upside down before attaching them, and of course it doesn't flip them back..... I give up!
  15. And since we are on the topic of pullers, and KMG's rig is so impressive, here's the rest of our towing fleet. We take a ton of pride in this stuff!
  16. Still don't know why every picture I post is upside down....?
  17. 30' Keystone camper and a 24' cargo trailer, and bringing our new Honda home on the flatbed....
  18. I'm gone for work this week, but I'll pull one off and check when I get home. I don't believe my lugnuts have that bottom collar either, but maybe that my wheel is just thinner at the hub?
  19. Hmmm, no, my aluminum wheels allowed plenty of engagement. Wierd....?
  20. I'll measure the tread depth of our OEM Firestones sometime soon, but we're at 30,000 miles and I'd say they still have more than that to go yet. Granted, actual miles on those tires is probably closer to ~25,000 miles since I switch to winter tires when the snow flies, but we do much more driving in the warm months, for sure. So far I'm pleased with their wear, ride, road noise, and stability.....
  21. Get some winter tires for it, and it'll tackle anything, even the winter storms. It handles the Michigan winters very well. It's is heavy, so it's mass doesn't do it any favors when a slide does happen, but that's just physics. And that usually only happens when I flip off the stability control and act like I'm 18 again;) About seating space, even in their tightest configuration, there's still plenty of room for most people. Much better than the transit, which reminds me of the tiny extended cab rear seat legroom on older pickups.... I have the SL, so I can't comment on the S....
  22. Hard to believe they can't get to the bottom of this. Keep us posted on what Nissan does for ya, and what they find as the issue. Good luck! Nice van btw!
  23. Just a quick note, I'm an individual NV owner, using it for personal, family use, and I'm a huge automotive enthusiast.
