  1. Lol, towards the right, about 1/3 back. It’s difficult to forget where we park our vans, no doubt!
  2. Also, since this is a thread about MPG’s, since I just changed the oil in our 2018 CRV, I have quick thought. Yeah, the NV mileage sucks. Most trucks with conventional drivetrains have abysmal mileage compared to anything loaded with tech or fuel saving gizmos. But unlike our CRV, there’s no belly pan with 9 screws to remove to access the oil drain and filter, no wheel removal required like the upcoming Ford Ranger, and no $25 cartidge filter like our Ford Super Duty. Everything about the NV is pretty simple and straightforward, as a real commercial vehicle should be. To me that’s more valuable than some more mileage.
  3. Very true. But I believe it’s just because we are an enthusiastic group of owners in a class that has historically gotten much less attention than the majority of automotive catergories. Ford and GM also left full size vans alone after they had a formula they seemed happy with, even with the considerable flaws. Lots of buyers stay loyal to their brand for the most part, and there aren’t the sales numbers to justify costly new models every 4-5 years like pickups.
  4. Yes, 2x4. Sorry, I forgot to include that important piece of info.
  5. Lol moose! I get 12-14mpg the majority of the time. Mostly rural and a little city driving.
  6. Wow. I’m intrigued. I’m automatically suspect of rodent damage. I’ve never heard of a newer vehicle having the harness get loose and wear anything through. Keep us posted. Good luck.
  7. My parents bought a Ford Super Duty pickup in 2015 and it included not free but very reasonable oil changes. And I was amazed it was actually synthetic Motorcraft (Fords brand, not sure who the actual supplier is) oil instead of cheaper conventional diesel oil. Any idea what oil Nissan includes in your oil changes?
  8. Yeah, my iPhone 7. Even if I flip the photos and post them upside down, it then keeps the upside down. It’s Wierd... my older brother is a computer scientist, and even he is baffled
  9. I think Elhart in Holland and Fox in GR sell and service NV’s.
  10. Always upside down. On this site only. My apologies! Merry Christmas to all!
  11. I’ll get you a pic of my pinstripes (on silver) soon...
  12. Usually when I come across that problem I start dousing anything that moves in WD-40! I especially like to lube all the rollers for the sliding door once every couple months the same way. Really helps smooth and quiet the action down.
  13. How long do you plan to own it? I would guess the 3500 would have slightly higher resale as it appeals to a slightly larger audience. But that’s just a guess...
  14. I’m in west Michigan a lot around the holidays for work, and this is the first year I’ve noticed many other NVPs running around. It’s refreshing to see others jump in.... I still think the value of our big vans can’t be matched. I built a new Ford Expedition on Fords site a bit ago and my XLT spec’d how I’d want it approached $70,000. Insane!
  15. From central Michigan here. 2015 NVP 3500. We use the stock wheels with Continental ContiWinterContact (I think!) light truck snow tires from tirerack.com. And I got chromed aluminum wheels at the same time from tirerack and put the stock Firestone’s on for the other 7 months. Snow tires are amazing, simply unbelievable how they add traction. The NV is still a 7,000 two-wheel-drive tank, but I’ve tried to get stuck numerous times and *never* been stuck yet! Let me know if you want any more info. Winter tires have kind of become an obsession for me ;)
  16. Mine is a 20” from superbrightleds.com. It looks very similar to what they sell now, but I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same since I put this on in 2015. It fits well and looks good, but where the mounts ended up requires some monkeying around to get the top and bottom holes lined up as I had to go through the structural brace that came to a “V” right where my bolt needed to be. Wasn’t horrible, but caused some difficulty.
  17. Ours is a 2015. Does the 2018 have a Bluetooth connection, or does it still require a cord?
  18. Awesome! Congrats! Big family? Towing plans?
  19. I have, and really like it.
  20. I’ve always been confused by the Renault/Nissan deal. Im hoping Nissan breaks free of it, as I get the feeling that’s the end goal, and things improve for them because of it.
  21. Lol, I’m with ya! There’s a lot of talk of another manufacturer or two coming by 2020, and I’d be shocked if Nissan wasn’t one of the players.
