Bigger Family = Bigger Cars

Awesome. Hope you love it like most of us have. Your opinions and expertise will be appreciated! -
Same here. I’d love an NV cargo, with a little more length, and the diesel with a tow rating of around 12,000 pounds. That would be perfect for our business...!

Awesome!

Settle down. ASD Dad is exactly right. All speedos are off a certain percentage and read faster than actual road speed. The difference in the circumference of a new tire vs. a worn tire will make a pretty big difference in indicated speed. So unless you plan to get a new set of $800 rubber ever year, I’d spend my time worrying about more important things in life.

Great info guys. Sorry about your rack, ASD Dad. -
Best of luck selling. I’ll spread the word to anyone who may be interested. If it was a high top I’d snatch it up for our business!

Front Grill and Bumpers Wrapped
andy_george replied to Jeffrhobodine's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I don’t understand how they wrap complex shapes like the grille without lots of wrinkles in the vinyl.... Looks cool! -
Shouldn’t cost you. I’d say it’ll be covered....

$270 for an hour? Ask them if they went by the book and it was supposed to be a 2-3 hour job or something. That seems a bit outrageous. -
Check Engine Light on.... bad O2 sensor
andy_george replied to andy_george's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
Update: while vacationing at the Inlaws over Easter in Nebraska, the check engine light came back on. Luckily I had the O2 sensor with me, so I scurried under the van and changed it. After 2 startups the light went off, and has been off since. -
Cool! Welcome!

My 2014 doesn’t require removing anything.

Love your trip notes, Rad. It’s a dream of ours to take a trip from Michigan to the west coast and stop and see many of the places you recommend along the way. Work is very busy during the summer and with the kids in school the other 10 months, I’m afraid it will be a long time before we get the opportunity. But when we do, your posts will be the main advice we take along! Keep traveling!!

I’ll need new rubber by 2019, and would consider the KO2’s. My brother-in-law just bought a used F-150 with them on it, and they look good. I never go on anything more extreme than a gravel road, but if they look better, wear well, and aren’t loud, I’d consider them. I’m sure the large tread blocks are bad on ice, but switching to winter tires makes that a non-issue.

What have you done to your NV van lately?
andy_george replied to chphilo's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
Switched our van back to its summer tires (stock Firestone’s) this week. At almost 60,000 miles I decided to bleed the brakes and fill it with new fluid. The electric brake booster sure made that easy.... for the rear wheels I just had the wife push the brake pedal to the floor, I cracked the bleeder valve on the caliper, and it pumped a constant stream until I saw the new fluid. Easy-peasy! -
Brand new and already a problem. Help?
andy_george replied to JanaJuggles's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
Don’t be worried about the NV being one headache after another.... most everyone seems extremely happy with the lack of issues on these vans. After a wash job our slider sometimes freezes shut, but I doubt that’s your issue. If you’ve had the inside panel off to add insulation (which I’ve also done to our slider) I’d remove it again and just look around. I’m sure it’s something very simple. Please let us know what you figure out!- 8 replies

Check Engine Light on.... bad O2 sensor
andy_george replied to andy_george's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
Checked out the sensor.... easy to get to, right behind the cat, under the drivers seat area. Connections all looked good and the condition of everything is like brand new. So I ordered an OEM sensor from Rockauto.com for $70, since I checked out the warranty and it looks like the sensors are emissions related and only covered to 50,000 miles. The check engine light remained on for a day, but this entire weekend it hasn’t come back on. So I may have wasted my money, or I may need it again soon if the light comes back on. I’ll update this post...:/ -
I love Rads photo posts. They make me laugh.... just like me, he loves scenery shots and an occasional vehicle pic. But my wife always insists that a human must be in every picture. We give each other crap all the time for that!:) Thanks for the pics!
