According to my 2014 dealer NV Lineup brochure the cargo 3500 is the only vehicle that comes standard with the 75 series tires. All passengers and 1500, 2500 cargos have the 70 series. This is straight from the 6 page color 2014 10 page flip open comparison guide. The gvwr on a 3500 cargo is 9900# while a passenger is 9430 on a v8 sl up to 9520 on a v6 3500. Rick.

Interesting they force the intake air into the far corner. My real question to you is my 2014 3500 high top is only getting mid 5 - high 7 mpg. Ive never broken 200 mikes on a 24 gallon fill up. Worse was 133 miles. I do carry approx 2000# full time, but that is only 50% of capacity. Dealer said nothing can be done, salesman said he's never heard of that. What kind of driving do you do to get so much better mileage. I only have 2300 miles since new 12/30/14. Rick.

The capacity for water is 7.48 gallons per cubic foot. Also it's 8.3# per gallon. Having an aluminum or stainless tank fabricated is not cheap. but it might give you the biggest tank for your size restrictions. no one says you need to install it under the floor. a simple pump with check valve can easily pump the grey water to a more convenient location. With a tall van, a simple subfloor can hide a simple tank too. Also look into round sewer pipe. sdr35 is your best bet as it's relatively cheap and has a thick enough wall to support itself. It's cheaper and lighter weight than sch. 40. You can do the math or google the capacity per foot of pipe. Rick.

Well, I must have stirred the pot. After calling my dealer this morning, I attemped 1 more call this afternoon and actually got ahold of a cs rep. They already knew that their system was full as it was reported to them this morning. After speaking to the rep and taking all my info, he issued me a reference number. Then this afternoon, my salesman returned my call and will speak to the service manager about my still unrepaired items. Funny when I get home and I check my email to find out that corporate sent me an email stating they tried to contact me. Even more amazing it was 2 minutes after I hung up with them. Honestly, I don't think they know if they're coming or going. Sounds about the same experiance with the dealer. Rick.

Has anyone had luck reaching Nissan commercial recently? I called their number (877-647-6281) last Wednesday with a recording saying to leave my info and my call will be returned the next business day. Nothing on Thursday. I called Friday just to get a recording saying the mail box is full. Tried again this morning, Monday with the same results, mailbox is full. The same number option 1 works for roadside assistance, and an operator does pick up. They have no idea what's going on. Are they no longer taking calls from their customers? Rick.

Ive sent in 3 spammer reports with no action taken so far. Does this actually get moderared? Just like last week calling nissan commercial, goes to a full voicemail box. Rick. -
Any idea if the upgraded map sim card will address the functionality of the gps, or just give new updated streets? i figured out a workaround with the bluetooth and map screen. instead of using the radio for the speakerphone, just turn your phone onto speakerphone and disconnect your bluetooth connection. this will allow the maps screen to work while on the phone. plus the bluetooth voice dialer is pretty much off 90% of the time anyways. Rick.

Save your money on the 2014 navigation. The $1400. Price is because they force you to buy the side impact airbags with the navigation. At least thats in the cargo version. The maps all seem to be at least 2 years old too. The bluetooth is terrible. Voice recognition is terrible and if you're on the phone, the maps don't show up. For the money buy an aftermarket and backup camera. The factory one is a joke. Supposedly 2015 they made an upgrade to the tech package. Rick.

Tried calling at noon pst today. Get the same recording to leave a message and they will return your call the next business day. Problem is today the recording said the mail box is full. Was able to call roadside assistance, but the operator only has the same contact number as what ive dialed. Has anyone had luck calling Nissan commercial lately? Rick.

pretty sure it's a door stop bumper for the rear door. Rick.

no call back for me too. the system kicks you into leaving a contact name and number. says you will get a return call the next day. still waiting and not holding my breath. nothing like bringing the van in for 3 issues and after 3 hours all they managed to do was inflate the tires and loose a tire stem cap in the process. the other issues they claim they need to order parts for. so basically i wasted 5 hours to fill the tires. Rick.

the number is 877-647-6281. it's the same number as roadside assistance. Rick.

T do next to no idling. but at an average of 12 -13 mph based on a 6 year average in my sprinter it's stop and go in the city. lots of lights and stop signs. Does the AC use a lot of extra fuel? when i do go on the freeway and am not in traffic, i only see at most 10-11 mpg. this is with my van carrying approx 2000# of shelving and equipment/ supplies. that's still approx 1500# under the gvwr. my sprinter was much heavier as it still has lots of cargo in it i haven't transferred into the nissan. Can't imagine how you guys get that good of mileage towing 8000#, when i'm much lighter and don't even come close on the freeway when i'm driving 60-65 mph on an open freeway. yes it's a 3500 high roof, but how much more drag is there, compared to your travel trailers? Should I inflate the tires to the rated pressure of the tire or keep them at the posted pressure on the door jam? it can't make that much difference. can it? My scan guage shows approx 1gph while stopped at a light in drive and approx .75gph in neutral. not a big enough change to shift every time I'm at i light. Any suggestions that will make a difference. Rick

6 years with the sprinter my city average was 12 mpg. On the highway from la to san diego 125 miles I showed 19-21 mpg. I only do 6000 miles a year. But I'm under 200 miles a tank and last tank was only 134 miles on 23.81 gals. 5.63 mpg $3.99 a gallon/ $95.00 I have a total of 2335 miles since 12/30/14. Power is nice, but mileage sucks. Out here gas is about $1.00 more than diesel. So when that's factored in my cost per mile is well beyond double. Rick.

Double check your warranty coverage. Smog related issues are covered for 7 years, at least here in California. Rick.

Much more power than my 3.0 diesel sprinter when towing my work trailer. Problem is even without the trailer i'm getting 5.5- 7.5 mpg. Drive very little highway, mainly city averaging 12.5 mph. At least that was my average with my sprinter over 6 years. I'm much lighter than my sprinter was loaded. Still have less than 3,000 miles , but I don't see an improvement when it breaks in. Rick.

I have slick locks on both my NV & Sprinter. Both work vans. Problem is with a camper someone can screw with you and lock you in. Doesn't even require a lock, just a stick. But without a bulkhead partition, you could always escape from the front. The slick locks are really a slick design. And with a little adjustment Once installed, they work flawlessly. Rick.

My NV with the prodigy controller also clicks under the dash when i apply the brakes even with no trailer attached. i assume it's a relay or solenoid that's powering up. almost like the gear shift safety interlock that prevents shifting if the brake is not applied. Rick.

i too have a minor issue with the front tow hooks that were not fully painted gloss black. pointed it out to them and the answer is a can of spray paint is $3.00. walked the lot and some are like mine and some are fully painted. amaze me that they can't just touch them up with a can of paint as it's very obvious to the customer with them sticking out the front. Rick.

I have a dash cam and it works great. Records onto its own micro sd card in a constant loop depending on video quality and card size. Mine has no option for an external monitor or external memory. If need be the camera can be connected via, usb into my computer or the micro sd card removed and inserted into a computer. Not sure if you can splice into the rearview camera and install a digital recorder. Not interested in a second rear mounted dash cam? Or you could by an after market rear view camera and digital recorder pretty cheap. Rick.

my guess is the pin switch circuit feeding the light has a loose or corroded ground connection. i believe that the lights have a constant 12+ and when you move the switch on the dome lamp to on, you are giving it a good ground connection. i don't believe the switch is actually a 12 volt + signal, but rather a 12 volt - signal. might be wrong, but it's my guess as to how it works. my 2014 has 3 dome lites in the back. how many does yours have and are all 3 affected like this? Rick.

I know on my sprinter when it engaged it was due to weight transfer while on an onramp while merging onto another freeway. At first I thought it was a fluke, but I can repeat it at this particular ramp. The trailer might be causing a weight transfer especially when cornering.wheel sensors and computer aren't in sync. See if you can repeat where this happens and if there is a bump or curve in the route you're noticing this happen. Rick.

About the only thing I get coming on when I tow my 4000# jetting trailer is the sonar sensors. Seems like they see the trailor as an obstacle, so I just shut it off at the dash switch. My sprinter and traverse don't get confused with this trailer. Slip indicator as In the stability controller? Rick.

Welcome to NV Commercial Managers, sales and service
RICK replied to radin2son's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
True, but if is paid for in full and you never come back or they give you a 30 day window to pick it up, the dealer would cash in with already paid for inventory that they can sell again for 100% profit. Rick.
