Mark and Sage, If you are near Charlotte, NV get in touch with Scott Nagy at Scott Clark Nissan. He is the commercial manager and has lots of experience with wheel chair adaptation. If not close by, get in touch with him via their web site. Hope me someone gets back to you with the measurements you need. If not, re-post it under Introduce Yourself. It should get noticed there. You can also check Facebook if you haven’t already.

NV video showed up but “private.” Not sure what the point is...

Midwaymatt, Did everything go as planned?

ASD Dad in an other post regarding this question tried to get the dealer to explain why this was needed. Couldn’t and decided against this. I on the other hand was convinced by the dealer to get this done and other unnecessary work done at 30k (36k warranty on 2012-13 NVs). At the time we were traveling and using dealers on the road. When I mentioned this to my independent mechanic, he laughed and told me it couldn’t hurt. So at worst it can’t hurt... just your wallet.
-
I couldn’t remember the name of the part, “baby tooth,” at the time, but you may want to check this out under maintenance. You the can tell Nissan that the “baby tooth” is the problem. You will probably get a blank look.

Look at 90k optional service. If you know your NV’s history, then you can decide if use warrants this. If not, I would get it checked/done. I had the coolant replaced at 80k at the recommendation of my independent mechanic. If the transmission fluid needs be replaced at 90k, then I’ll get it done.

Check out the videos/slide shows added to conversiontrader.com. No NVs, however... There is a 1995 Dodge pop top Sportsmobile for sale ($21k) in Idaho. Would be surprised if it is still available.

Possibly the gear selector plate near the steering column that has fallen out on other vans, newer than ours. There are posts, photos (black part) about this under NV Model Specific. Look for 5/4/2018 post, Part ID help needed.

Thanks for the link. The manual alludes to federal requirements based on not passing emissions testing etc. Looks like everything is covered “repaired at an authorized dealer service facility.” The dealer said no when the sensor canister failed on our NV past the 36k warranty, yet it is on the list. Nissan did pay for this after the fact. Looks like the first repair is covered, not the second after the initial 2 year, 20k from the first sale. Design and defects appear to be covered for 8 years or 80k. How do you prove that when most NVs have not had an issue. It it is a moot point for us as we are past 80k.
-
The manual is not clear on this and 2 have posted that Nissan says no. We have to assume Dean has checked this out and knows what part(s) he needs. Most aftermarket parts say legal in 48 states and cannot be shipped to CA. In AZ, emissions testers use a mirror to find the cc. That’s it, they just have find it. If I have to replace this, I will go with the CA (dealer) legal cc primarily to avoid issues when we sell our camper van.

Carfax will give you plenty to choose from from all over as a starting point. Mileage over 100k shouldn’t deter you if it has been well maintained. 3 NV hightop conversions for sale on conversiontrader.com -
Looks good. Just goes to show you, never trust info from someone who hasn’t done the job. I would swear I saw the hub cap on the floor when new tires were put on our NV. Never would have thought it stays with wheel. I see the plastic you mention behind every other lug. Just enough to hold the cap on. Threaded or not I bet you can remove the lugs from the cap, but why? Good info.

This is typical. No followup post. PM JNV to see if this was resolved and how. My experience with Commercial customer service has been over the phone, as there was no form to complete. May have changed. You could contact them to see if there is a service bulletin.

No, someone hit the rear bumper pushing the sensor in side the bumper, breaking the plastic. Had to order the part and dealer popped it in when they did an oil change. I did have rear bumper damage (my fault) repaired and the sensors were removed and replaced. Same sensors. Have you tried masking the middle sensors to see what happens? Probably nothing! All 4 have to be working. But, I have always wondered if the sensor can be rotated directing the “sonar” away from the bull bar. Some had problems with the front license plate. Others had no problems. Same sensor, different angle? I would check youtube to see if there is a NV or Titan specific video. Repair pal doesn’t offer a lot of help, but implies you will have to remove the front bumper if you cannot get to the clip or retainer on the back of the sensor.
-
You will have to move the sensors to the bull bars the way various after market, off road bumper manufacturers have done. The sensors clip/snap into place and can be removed. If you break the plastic, the sensor cannot be held in place. Cheap part that is expensive to replace. Good question. If the outside sensors don’t see the bull bar, they should work. If you move the middle sensors so they clear the bull bar, I would think it would work. Disconnecting one or more won’t work.

Quigley in PA. Check to see if they have any being built or buy though your dealer and have it shipped to them. Longer warranty.
-
Again, pm...
-
Best bet is to pm yjmoose89. How many miles on your 2013 cargo. Not sure which converter, Advanced or Quigley, but there is a 60,000 mile cap on used conversions.

The oem 21 mm lug wrench has not worked for some. Remove all 8 and it will come off, separate from the wheel. The trick will be masking the Nissan symbol to keep it silver if that is what you want.
-
Yes the cover/cap comes off with the lugs. Easy enough to paint it. Some have powder coated the wheels, but painted wheels should work fine. You can can let us know if the provided 21 mm or purchased 22 mm loosens the lugs.

There is very little difference between 2012-16 NVs. Few recalls (occurred long ago) and few reports of major problems, at least on this forum. MPG has been an issue for some, but the 2500 gives you a choice of V6 or V8. Depends on your need. Carfax should give you lots of choices and prices. I wouldn’t rule out high mileage NV V8s provided you can come up with service records. Check out the “Above and Beyond” Nissan video. 500,000 miles... A commercial manager in NC took a trade in with 300,000 miles. Ran great but who could he sell it to to make the typical dealer profit? I would also make sure it will pass emissions. 2 reports of failed catalytic converters. The first reported it would run $1500. In the second instance the dealer worked a deal. Smart since the owner has a large fleet. Other emissions issues have been nagging. I had to replace or fix a sensor. Chose to have dealer fix it and Nissan paid for this even though out of warranty. There was a documented history of problems under warranty.
-
Funny. You haven’t had any issues with emissions... I wonder what other data they will collect. I’ll look for your van being flat bedded to Mexico.

I was hoping 2020 owners will join. At least they are getting “tried and true” vans.
