  1. 80,000 on the odometer. Tires replaced at 62,000. Plenty of tread left but AZ heat takes its toll on tires (tread separation and sidewalk cracks) and batteries. Replaced van battery 2+ years ago. Canister sensor
  2. The 2012 service manual under
  3. Is there any interest among frequent users to keep in contact via email as andy_george suggested? Some of us already have done this.
  4. Any word on what is going on? It is hardly worth posting...
  5. Instagram. I had to think about this as well. There are a lot of spectacular photos on ig. The resolution seems so much better than the photos I take and or post.
  6. Great post and enjoy your travels. This site is barely on life support and probably was hacked again. Very few posts and problem attaching photos. For the time being it may be best to stick to ig and we can find you there. If and when photos can be attached, use a laptop or the full site if you use your phone. Vertical photos have always been a problem, so keep your photos horizontal. I find I have to remember to take a horizontal photo even if vertical frames the shot better. Not sure what happens with landscape. Great photos on ig. We
  7. It is a wonder that Nissan came up with such s good vehicle on the first try.
  8. What is going on with this site? It shut down for awhile and there are some strange changes in words. cana^

    Lug nut issues

Has anyone asked tire shops about this swelling? Discount tire appears to pay attention to torque and I haven
  10. Thank you. I think it was you who said we would be
  11. We considered attaching our screen room to the side door side. Concluded it wouldn’t work due to the open door and trying to seal it around the door mechanism. Hard enough with the “Skeeterbeater” screen we made. Fortunately mosquitoes aren’t that smart to find lower gaps. Rear door access may work if the tent is tall enough. You can solve the step up issue with a step that slides into the hitch receptor. Then there are weather issues and why would you want this over a stand alone tent. If the parking pad is large enough, you will be set up on pavement etc. Tent pads are better and we set up our screen room there. If you are dispersed camping this would not be an issue other than there may be a better area to pitch a tent than where you are parked. I would see it work well on beaches with vehicle access. Let us know how this works out...
  12. If this is the same part, there was a recall (13V-795), gear selector plate lock clip, to check if the U shaped metal piece was installed correctly. Most were installed correctly. Or did they change the part, creating a new problem..,
  13. Am I the only one who doesn’t know what a “baby tooth” is or does? What is its function?
  14. Welcome. There are many, basic to full time capable. Post some photos of your conversion progress.

    rust

There are been few complaints about paint. Could this be a 2013 issue that Nissan somehow or unknowingly corrected? Not much you can do beyond what you plan to do.
  16. I was looking at the stacked boxes in the tray. If that was just to show what would fit, then no problem. I’ve seen photos of hammock bags in vans. I figured it was an air mattress you could easily store if needed. Maybe it was the photo angle but it looked like the head room we have when sleeping on top. Still like how you can change/improve things...
  17. Have you checked the various sites to see what a similar NV sells for in your area? You also may be able to find out what it cost new. Motor Trend did a 2019 cargo van review and estimated cargo NVs will retain 53% of value after 5 years. If there are no service records, previous owner info or limited warranty, you may want to have a mechanic look at it. There have been a few problems related to neglected service, but that may be more of an issue for cargo vans or V6. High mileage? No problem. These are more than capable of running far longer than most of us need. 2012. No problem as well. Very few changes each model year. You will love this van/truck...
  18. First, you initial plan to keep it easy to convert back and forth between camper and cargo van let you do this. It also lets you change NVs if needed. The only thing I would add, if it isn’t in your plans, is some sort of barrier, front and rear, to keep stacked things in place on rough roads. That is quite the mattress. Do you really need something that plush?
  19. Great photos. Like the shelter you made. I haven’t looked at the Skeeterbeater site in a long time. We bought screen material (just the right width for side and back doors) and magnets to made our own side door screen. The magnets you used may work better. At one point, Skeeterbeater had plans to market these through Walmart. NV side and rear doors are probably too specific for this. The curtains you used offer some privacy at least until you turn on an interior light. In addition to all the light seeking bugs, we only had minor issues with bees and wasps. One huge mosquito...
  20. Great setup to keep things in place. We take 30+ gallons of water. We didn’t refill it and used all but 2+ gallons plus whatever little was left in the 20 tank on a 6 day trip. Owl Canyon just had water trucked in but it wasn’t potable. None of the other camping areas had water, so we would have had to buy water in Barstow if we stayed longer. Just too hot...
  21. We have a king snake who wanders around our yard. Mostly stays in the undergrowth but also climbs trees. One day saw him partially under our car and tried to grab him (?) but he made his way into the engine bay. Must not have stayed long. We haven’t seen him in awhile... Bamps, do you ever bring back stowaway rodents when you camp? Mostly, we find them after they took their last drink in the gray water pan we put under our van.
  22. No one has mentioned this as problem, but I can’t open Classified on mobile or the full site. It says there are 42 and 4 topics but none will open. The exception on the full site are the most recent posts, seats and NV for sale.
  23. Welcome. This site generally is difficult when it comes to searching, has little traffic, old posts and little to no follow up. There is no guarantee this post will be seen. Best bet is to PM those who have the info you need. Just switched over from mobile to full site. If you are near Charlotte, give Chris Nagy a call at Scott Clark Nissan.
