Quigley 4X4 conversion on NVP3500 review
Local Apparent Friday replied to peter_fazio's topic in 4x4 Conversions
Advanced is probably the only one left doing it at this point, at least that I'd call. 12-15k range. -
51344 is wix. 1344 is napa. I'm discontinuing use of napa filters because they switched styles and manufacturers to Donaldson. I will try the wix filter next and see if it still has the old style gasket.

Or if it's your first truck and you're used to putting 32# in things, proper tp is at least 50 up front and 80 out back.

No problem. Pretty much all the regulars here are gurus.

Brake options
Local Apparent Friday replied to John R Sortman's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Tons of options listed on Rockauto. I just ordered the heavy duty AC Delco variant, as 95% of my travel has become towing bikes, but I haven't installed them yet, they just arrived yesterday. -
This is the correct answer. Those are the first years of each respective generation, and they cover all the years, so the 12 is the correct one to use for your '15. The '16 one is the one you would use through '21.

I am currently running the aforementioned 1344 without issues, although I will discontinue that particular filter (and all NAPA filters) in the future and look for a cross. Napa switched from Wix to Donalson as their manufacturer, and the new gaskets are terrible and prone to leaking. Twice I've had filters leak out of the box with the new style. Here is a cross reference chart, I will most likely go back to Mobil 1 filters, as they can be sourced at walmart inexpensively.

Whoops. That's localish to me too. Maybe I can snag parts.

LED Headlight update
Local Apparent Friday replied to exE350's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
That is odd. I have the torchbeams installed and they are wired properly and function as factory. Perhaps the units you received were faulty, although it would be odd to have a matching pair that were wired incorrectly. -

LED Headlight update

I'm going off of memory here but iirc it seemed silly to me when I finally got it. Again, can check next week. @radin2soncan you provide some quicker insight? -

Pretty sure yes but I'm out of the country rn. I can look for you in a week or so if someone else hasn't already. -
Haven't personally done it but it should fit.

Chris at ujoint isn't doing NVs I don't think. Tim Dahle is another option, but i had not a lot of luck getting them to provide an estimate. Surprised you've had issues with KO2. I'm running BFG and have been off on the beach in hatteras without getting stuck, although running appropriate offroad pressures.

Can you elaborate a little as to your use? Just a bed, or fridge/stove/etc? Carrying tools? What are you looking for, let's start there.

Picked up a kawi 400 for endurance racing for '24, if anybody is around. I'll be all over the east coast this year. Merry Christmas!

I also never recommend throwing parts at a problem...have them go through the proper diagnostic chain. A starter is easily bench testable with a digital multimeter, some jumper cables, and a car battery. If it literally isn't turning over at all, be sure that they connected the main 12v lead to the starter. It is a separate lead that falls down alongside the battery tray and is easy to miss. I personally had that experience, but was able to diagnose using a DMM and then trace it out.

If it turns over at all, it's not "locked up." Not a lot of details were given, is this a v6 or v8? Gen 1 or gen 2? A couple thoughts; First and foremost, most JY pulls come with a 30 to 90 day warranty, so research your options in exchanging/returning. I had to do this with the first JY pull that I purchased. Did the donor engine come specifically from an NV, or was it from a titan/armada? IF it came from anything other than an NV, you need to make sure that they specifically moved ALL the sensors, flywheel AND engine harness from YOUR old engine over to the new engine. Everything looks the same and the harness will plug in, but if it didn't come from an NV, it's not the same. A fully dressed modern engine with all the accoutrements can be a lot to spin over by hand. Pull the coils and plugs completely out of the engine...this will make it significantly easier to spin over to test. Lastly, the best way to be sure that things look good is by doing a leakdown test. Any reputable mechanic shop should know what this is and have the tools on hand to perform it. Apologies I didn't get to this sooner, I've been busy with a family wedding and haven't been online much. -laf

Best Front shocks and struts???
Local Apparent Friday replied to Sebasmartinez's topic in Nissan NV 2500HD
There are only a few options...OEM or Monroe Magnum are the name brand ones. Either way, don't forget to get an alignment after you've done all of it. -
Give me some site feedback
Local Apparent Friday replied to ASD Dad's topic in Nissan NV Forum, Feedback and Help
I'll collate everything and shoot admin an email. -
@Sebasmartinez Did you get it aligned after replacing all the stuff? Scalloping on the tires is generally an alignment issue. Also, what tire are you running? Some are just loud.

Give me some site feedback
Local Apparent Friday replied to ASD Dad's topic in Nissan NV Forum, Feedback and Help
I cannot make changes like this directly, I have to email admin. I will look at post counts and what limited traffic I can see and see about it. Agree about post counts...it seems that only the technical crowd understand forums anymore these days...everything is done on facebook in groups, which I am not a fan of because things disappear and get buried. Zuck seems wholly incapable of programming a decent search feature. I do, however, try to comment and link here whenever I can. It also doesn't hurt that you don't have to register for FB groups the same way that you do for the rest of the internet, but alas, the spam filters here are amazing. -laf
