  1. As neat as the console is on these, mine went in the dumpster when we replaced it with the fridge unit. If someone is legitimately interested, greyhound used to offer freight shipping that was often quite reasonable for large items, or there's always uship.com. GLWS
  2. Might give an electrical contact cleaner a try if it starts to act up again.
  3. Cruised down to Road Atlanta this past weekend for the WERA endurance races...turns out when the wife drives, we get 15.1 mpg, so that's a fun fact. Got a whole lot of pictures of racing, but not a lot of the van. She's chugging along real nicely...got an oil change and front struts coming up soon before we hit the road again. Maybe even cut the roof and get the fan in. Hope everyone is well! - laf
  4. ey before I hit up fiverr, anybody active here that's a graphic designer?
  5. @Nimbus What did you use for adhesive? I'm debating between windoweld or 5200.
  6. Yah. Best option on bumper is to weld one yourself, if you're capable. There's like 3 offerings and they're all north of 3k installed. That's our plan, when I get my argon cyl back.
  7. There's a group called Nissan NV Families that's mostly people either asking if the NVPs are good for big families, or cracking jokes about how many kids they have. Then there's Nissan NV Owners, which is mostly people asking about the vans and whether or not they should buy them, and has a couple cool camper builds sporadically spaced in. Then there's Nissan NV2500/3500 Owners, which seems to be a little more NVc conversion oriented. I think this site is more relevant for actual tangible information, especially from a technical level and/or DIY breakdown. Facebook is good for topical information only.
  8. Amusingly, there is a pattern of threads asking whether or not the site will die and why there isn't more participation. Kind of frustrating because the facebook groups stay rather busy, but I reckon it's an accessibility issue. Any soccer mom with 12 kids can figure out how to access a facebook group, but forums are [apparently] outside the technical grasps of the majority. I'm thinking about making up stickers for funsies to give away. Maybe after the long list of other projects we've got going on. - laf
  9. Yah just checked, keep shrinking until you meet the following: "Max file size 0.05MB"
  10. Yoooooo! Welcome back! I feel ya' on the mileage...my DD is a hand-me-down honda fit that crests 40mpg if I keep my foot out of it. Glad to hear you're still kicking around in the van. Pop in from time to time and post up some pics of you out camping, if you think about it.
  11. There is no time limit on my ability to edit posts, so you can DM me if you time out and need something fixed. I can also hide threads/posts.
  12. Welp. The problem with leaving a link to the new location is it does nothing to solve the clutter issue. Before I started, the "Nissan NV Forum, Feedback and Help" section was 5 pages long. Now it is 2 pages, and things have been put in their place. Unfortunately, people don't seem to bother to scroll down to the appropriate section and miss the giant red disclaimer at the top. I am hoping to move that section to the bottom of the subforum listings to help alleviate the issue. Luckily, there are myriad ways for people to find their content, regardless of where I put it but, like you said, it is unfortunately the case that people rarely come back to check anyway. In my attempts to get in touch with Admin, I can tell you that yes, the operator of this site runs a number of others as well. Whether or not SMB is one of them, I do not know. - laf
  13. So...the photo requirements are pretty tiny. I just used GIMP and kept shrinking until it was small enough. It's not necessarily a matter of image quality, just image size.
  14. ASD has been AFK for over a year, so I have the watch. Hope he's out there having a blast in his NV. Basically, I have the same privileges he mentioned above. The anti-spam stuff here actually seems to work REALLY well as far as forums go, so I've been cleaning house in other ways...started by moving all the threads out of feedback to the appropriate forums. Keep flagging spammers if they find their way in, and if you guys spot double posts or something that is [blatantly] in the wrong category, feel free to flag that too and it'll go to my queue for review. It is my intention to continue to remain active and hopefully grow the forum participation as well. -laf
  15. Generally, that would be visually confirmed. If you look at the connections and ports on the ABS unit, do you see any leaks or signs of past leaks (oily dirt residue where dust has attached itself to the fluid particles?) Again, this is generic, non-renault specific advice...we don't get the 300's here so I'm not familiar with that particular ABS unit.
  16. Leaks are generally not mechanically tested, you just go over the whole system with a good flashlight, and it would also be accompanied by disappearing brake fluid, as in needing to top off your reservoir from time to time. Somebody tried to patent a UV brake fluid to make this process easier, but it was abandoned. Leaks are easier to find if you are not out in direct sunlight...perhaps in a garage or other space where you can control the amount of ambient light, or at dusk/dawn. Good luck!
  17. Neat site! Ours has only been on the road for 2 months so we haven't gone many places yet. Trips to GA, AL, FL, and TX in the works, though. -laf
  18. For anybody else reading this, they didn't run the wires out back if you have the cargo with no rear speakers. You'll need to do it yourself.
  19. I realize this is an old thread, but I'm cleaning out the site feedback and moving threads so I'm going to answer this with correct information. The titan kits will work on our vans. I am not sure about the XD specifically, but we leveled ours with a same model year range titan kit from ebay (SDT brand) for ~$50 and it worked great, direct bolt in. No further modification was necessary for the 2" kit, and it took me about 2 hours total, most of which was looking for my spring compressors.
  20. It is my hope that the forums will continue despite the drop in production, and I believe it will as more and more people catch on and used values drop. Additionally, it helps if you guys cross post on the facebook groups and whatnot in terms of good tutorials, etc...I try to direct people here as much as possible.
  21. Yes and no. While we don't have the Renault stateside, the issue described is a mechanical one not uniquely Renault, and generally is caused by air in the system/a fluid leak or a bad master cyl/booster. But I'm sure the French say it much more eloquently.
  22. @skyline2500cc Do you guys not have some kind of lemon law over there? Sounds like a dud, for sure. The info I gave is general mechanical advice and not Renault specific. @radin2son Thanks, time to get to work. For those not familiar, this is what an NV300 looks like.
