  1. These are bolt in, just choose whether or not you currently have armrests. I'm not familiar with the Ps but, if they have a front bench seat then yes, it would also be directly compatible. https://www.discountvantruck.com/nissanjumpseat/nissancenterseat.htm
  2. Changing the oil tonight at the 5000 mile interval ahead of our travel this weekend. Catch can is a little more than half-full of oil. I'm using the dipstick to mark the level. Catch can is 400ml not including the wool. I have dumped it at this point, and anticipate continuing to empty it every oil change.
  3. Luxury dealerships have to offer that bc they are always broken and in the shop. ? No emissions here, although we'd pass everything except CARB in our current config, at least for just a little bit longer. ? Oh and the dealerships here have some kind of crazy warranty that covers everything, but you have to buy it ahead of time. My Mom has it on her truck...so far they've put in a $1900 driver's seat and an entire transmission at no cost to her. Pretty neat.
  4. No...was planning on going, but we had family visiting from FL that opted to stay and wait out the storm, so we've been entertaining and having a grand old time. Headed back to the racetrack this weekend.
  5. Oh u mean like the oil change coupon books. Yah I got ya. There's a mom and pop here that services a lot of NVs...I see a different one in their parking lot every other month or so. Likely to see more and more as inflation continues up and up.
  6. I haven't purchased a new car since '09. They do service plans these days? As far as discounts, I've only ever gotten a discount online. Call the dealership and it'll be MSRP+. Buy it online from the same dealership, super sweet online price. Makes no sense to me. Neat that they let him stay in the van, that can be a problem at times. Happen to know the instagram acct?
  7. There is a certain subset of non-car people that believe dealers are empowered by a higher power to work on their vehicles, and going to anybody other than a dealer is sacrilege. They will not go anywhere else for ANYTHING, including oil changes, tire rotations, or wiper blades, lest their warranty be in jeopardy or their vehicles value somehow decline. These are, generally speaking, also the kind of people that you can sell headlight fluid to in bulk and on a subscription delivery, with install.
  8. I do my own work, with the exception of recalls, because they give me free parts that I would otherwise have to pay for if I were doing the recall myself. Sometimes I have had luck just getting the parts, but rarely. And it's not all bad...last time i went to the dealership XM gave me 6 months for free. As for tow policies, they all have quirks and limits, so the best bet seems to be mix and match. We're covered by AAA, Good Sam, and AMA. I think any of them would require you to be able to get out to paved road for flatbed service.
  9. Generally speaking, yes. You can always add it to your signature if you want. I personally try to avoid divulging too much personal information, and/or give incorrect information when required, as forums are publicly viewable to non-registered visitors. That being said, I was honest when I said that I am in the Mid Atlantic Region and frequently travel between Maine and FL.
  10. Hopefully you're just gunshy and it lasts for years to come. Glad you got connected with someone that listened...at least you'll have someone to call if you have issues again.
  11. My experience has been that it has to be a CV dealership. I drive by 4 other nissan dealerships to get to the one that will work on my NV. Could be related to my high roof though...it's hard to find people with tall lifts/bay doors/etc.
  12. Dealerships will service whatever you pay them for. Everybody needs to calm down about EVs...internal combustion is not going to disappear for a good long while, and vehicles will continue to be serviced for the better part of at least the next 10 years, or until WW3, whichever comes first. Generally speaking, though, dealership reviews are easily accessible via google.
  13. Glad to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel...hopefully you've picked it up by now. And the initial forum was fine, but it's better suited for the second gen engine forum, since this is not a unique-to-you issue, which is why I left the link. Really it should just be divided into first gen and second gen instead of the year by year breakout, but this is okay too.
  14. Ah yah, I am going to move it. This is a common issue with the 2nd gen V8s, as you mentioned. - laf
  15. Someone that's been around the block will be along shortly with how to get in touch with someone, but the recall issues and their liability will extend further than your existing warranty. Also, from the time I've spent in the various nissan groups, this is a common issue with the second gen engines. Sorry to hear that you're having issues and hope that they can get you straight at best and, at the very least, get you into something that will work in the meantime. Good luck.
  16. Yah I can find other windows that would work, but the CRL was specifically designed for the cutout. If I can't find it, I'll eventually go with the next smallest size I can find.
  17. @aztec testing and tinkering (read:overthinking) is kinda my thing. @crusty yah I too was going to recommend a sine wave inv. I'll have to see if I can find something that fits. Didn't get to test wires today, too busy on bikes.
  18. Yah no problem. I have that same setup and it works great. Check at local electrical supply houses... price was closer to $80. Best of luck.
  19. Posting a thread up, if anyone has or sees a CR Laurence FW807R for sale, please forward it. This is the window that goes in the top of the slider, and has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no intentions to resume production. TIA - laf
  20. @rvivian Welcome to the forums! You might try reaching out to Roadtrek directly. I don't see a manual listed, but perhaps they can point you in the right direction as to how it was build. If they aren't able to help, these Fluke tracers are great...you just clip the tone generator on a conductor and then use the probe to follow it wherever you want. Keep us posted with what you find, and feel free to pop into Introductions and tell us a little about yourself. -laf
  21. If I had to venture a guess, it would look something like this; alternator output increases with RPM, so either the inverter circuit doesn't have a proper regulator/controller, OR it does and Nissan just didn't want to take a chance on the liability of frying electronics. I found reference to a couple posts here were people have made grounding mods to attempt to get 400w constantly, but nothing conclusive and no battle reports, so I'm not linking them. If one were so inclined, an oscilloscope could be used to analyze the signal to determine whether or not it's safe. I'm in the middle of prepping the bikes for a track day this weekend, but my inverter is pretty accessible in our current build...I'll throw a DMM on there tomorrow and see if A/C is actually making it all the way back. I'll have to dig around and find my portable o-scope, though. It's been misplaced. Also, @The Roving Arborist, welcome to the forums. Feel free to jump in Introductions and introduce yourself, or pop in to Conversions and show off your build. We love ogling build pics. - laf
  22. Just going to start a generic thread here for people to add vans as they see them come up on various different platforms, we can possibly help those that are looking. I'm not affiliated with these sellers. 2013 2500, full build-out, Ohio 195k miles $35,500 2018 2500, less-full build-out, North Carolina, 45k miles $50k And here's 20 different hertz rental trucks of various different mileage and engine configs for good prices, all 2019/20 and sub-80k miles and priced 29-37k with one high-flyer in Mass.
  23. It's been a hot minute since I've posted anything in here or really done a lot of work on the van...been mostly tending to the flock as well as working on motorcycles, but I DID decide to cut a hole in something expensive. 10/10 would recommend. I have another hole to cut in the van if I can find the time this week.
  24. For the longest time, I thought this was someone's socked foot in the the thumbnail view...
