Countdown to arrival of 2013 NV 2500 SV V6
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Daydreamin520's topic in 2013
Vehicle popularity also can vary wildly place to place. In chicago there were a ton of sprinters, literally a ton. Not so much here in Charlotte. Do you have alot of NV's on the road by you? Here in Charlotte we really do have ALOT of them. I would just guess that in a typical day out and about visiting business's I would see maybe 15-30. I'm actually going to count next time, lol. Daydreamin, I'm excited for you!! They are cool trucks. I spend alot of time in mine and would love to have a van in my aresenal of vehicles. I've done probably 8 2000 mile plus road trips in the last 3 years. I usually camp at koa's but at times it would be nice to pull up and have a van outfitted for gear and overnight capabilities. I think the NV would be a great a platform for that. Whatever you do it sounds like you'll be having a good time, so two thumbs up for that!! -
Countdown to arrival of 2013 NV 2500 SV V6

He was the lead singer to a HUGE HUGE rocker band in the 80's and 90's called Poison. He has actually stayed relevant and most people would probably know who he is. I'm sure Nissan payed him a small fortune for that commercial. As for advertising, I do, but not in a conventional tv radio sense. I do direct marketing to small business owners in the area. I'm in the midst of finding business like ace hardware to cross promote with (set up in front with coffee doughnuts and trucks, and in return hand out gift cards from the store to buyers). I will also be partaking in industrial trade shows, attending industry events, so on and so fourth. My dealership group happens to be very very large and have very well known name and I have been pushing for air time mentions of the NV line but have had no success yet. It all basically revolves around the commercial side and not the passenger van. Those sell well and honestly seem to be marketing themselves acceptably at the moment. But honestly, more than anything I get ALOT of......."I've been seeing a ton of these on the road and I just wanted to check them out" -

Countdown to arrival of 2013 NV 2500 SV V6

remember, if your claiming this as a business vehicle and you own a business (sounds like you do?!?!?) be sure to sign before midnight on 12/31 to quality for section 179 extension the president just signed on the 19th. -
I've used and sold this one. I picked it after trying several because I thought it was just the right size, simple, durable, and looked nice. I never liked bar type because I felt those provided enough platform to step on, especially in the even of inclement weather like snow if you're carrying a box or something like that. http://www.amazon.com/Curt-Manufacturing-31001-Step-Pad/dp/B0009YIE0U/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1419600493&sr=8-30&keywords=hitch+step I've also recomended this one to the right buyer on occasion. It's meant for pets, it has a 200lb weight limit but I wouldn't recomend it for 1 200lb human. It would be great for kids or dogs however. It's also plastic which of course is indestructable. http://www.amazon.com/Otto-Step-Car-Pet-Ramp/dp/B000WQ823E/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1419600781&sr=8-15&keywords=hitch+step

andy, you got the zero gravity option........sweeeeeet!! -
The whole survey thing is weird and I don't think it works. I guess to some extent, from a manufacturer point of view how else are they to monitor the dealership networks interaction with customers. The whole thing is a very touchy subject. There are just so many situations that we have to take the brunt of criticism that is in some cases unjust, and can become very frustrating because for some people it does affect their pay. It's like getting served under cooked chicken at a restaurant and taking tipping the waiter less. It's not necessarily fair but it is the way it is, most of the time the waiter handles it with class but not always, everyone is different.

Is this a good price for this van?
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Bobby54's topic in Nissan NV 1500
I definitely wouldn't say resale is low. Remember that when most people leave the dealership they get right to work. This isn't like a passenger car where you can keep it looking nice through meticulous care and handling. This is a work truck. It's not going to stay home on in bad weather, have the inside thoroughly cleaned every week, so on and so on. So what's my point? Most of these vans get marks on the inside, sometimes outside right away. It's simply what happens when you carry around a bunch of tools, load pallets, lumber, etc etc. So the disparity in price between may seem larger on most vehicles when going simply off of miles and year vs a typical non consumer vehicle. I know that I for one don't see many vans with 15k that look showroom, so they are priced accordingly. Check sprinter, chevy, or any other manufacturer prices on used. You'll see the same. -
pretty much agree with exactly what bates said.

I'm not quite sure I understand you clearly, so i apologize if I'm getting crossed up........ Also, I have to clarify this because it's an important distinction, I don't work for "nissan". I am a commercial/fleet manager at a Nissan dealership. :) But I'm not sure why you would find issue with this. I have an opinion on the different vehicles just like everyone else. It's no different than everyone here being biased because they bought one and are proud. The fact of the matter is that for me personally I came here as a manager from one heck of a sprinter dealership. I love sprinters. Really, I like all the vehicles. I chose this place and this brand. It may not be the best vehicle for everyone, as each offering can have its own unique attributes that may lend itself better to one person or another. But as a broad statement I can tell you that as a complete package...... cost of ownership, purchase price, gas mileage, (the whole enchilada...) The NV is winner. So ya, I'm going to come on here and be proud of what I'm selling, talk well of it, and help spread the word. Also, have you ever purchased a commercial product from a commercial dept before? I think you may find it to be quite a different experience than walking into a "car dealership" and talking to a "car salesman". Besides Dustin, looks like you're leaning the right direction anyways ;) Chris

List of Issues So Far with my 3500 SV
Chris_CommercialManager replied to jimgoings's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
I can't provide something in writing but I'm a commercial manager as my name indicates, that is commercial clients are handled. -
I second this company, I have used them in everything from high end exec movers to airport shuttle builds. Best seat for the dollar in my opinion.

Dustin how much are you towing and how many miles are you driving? I mean, if your biggest concern is mileage sprinter to NV is not a fair comparison. I just heard some ford guys present on the eco transit and was surprised when they stated a 14/18mpg figure. That seems to be an apples to apples figure to the Nissan so it would be close to a toss up. Another thing to consider about the sprinter is the quality of fuel. Our diesel quality here ranges from bad to worse. We had to tell people what brands of gas to use, which to stay away from, particular stations, etc. It really is that bad. We'd get people oblivious to that in all the time with clogged DPF filters and such and it was a quite pricey thing to go through. I wouldn't eliminate it because of that but it is a concern, and should a problem arise it negates alot of the savings your netting gas vs diesel anyways.

2013 NV2500 Van has major engine problems.
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Bobby54's topic in Nissan NV 2500HD
There are no regular occurrences of such things. You'll see things go from one vehicle to another, whether it be a window motor, or at worse a major drive train component randomly on any brand make or model of vehicle. It in most cases is no more than an anomoly, which is what I would suggest here. I would also ask, did you see maintenance logs first hand? Was the rental agency from their fleet or rental side? I think you get where I'm going. Even more to the point, I just had a HUGE company that does industrial rentals complete a comprehensive cost analysis before replacing their aging fleet of thousands of vehicles, guess who it boiled down to in the end, toyota and nissan. They are going with Nissan. -
so...In my opinion this is the holy grail. It's a ranger all aluminum service package with aluminum bulkhead. I love ranger stuff. It of course comes at a price, but if your looking for more stuff to write off for your business or have payload concerns this stuff kicks butt!!! In no particular order......
