Rear sonar sensor problem
Chris_CommercialManager replied to JanuszSki's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
I have factory meeting in Mississippi in a few weeks and will be having a round table discussion among other things and I couldn't agree more with this and will bring it up and see what they say and report back to you guys. -
IMO..... Why the NV deserves the Cummins Diesel
Chris_CommercialManager replied to andy_george's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
We're really naming alot of things I would LOVE to see from a sales perspective. I do think Nissan is committed and time will offer most of these things...... I mean heck look at the NV200 Taxi Out of.... 4x4 Extended version Diesel Cab chassis I'd love to see a diesel. Bates, I already know you'd want 4x4, talk about a great selling tool up there in the snow. Jeez, it would be a slam dunk -
Any handicap accessible NV's in here?

Rick no offense, give it a rest. We all know how you feel about your radio. You seem disgruntled and unhappy. Trade your truck and take your negativity with you, this is a forum for constructive discussion. I think you'll find no product is perfect. I can't even imagine how pissed you'd be if you bought a Mercedes dodge or ford with all the quirks in those. This is a commercial product Rick. There is a trickle down of technology. We will not have the latest and greatest....ever. Who wants to spend the extra money for that. You? If so go to benz and see where that gets you not only with price but quirks. Nissan has done a damn fine job of building a great competitive product that is super price conscious, it should return tremendous reliability for most importantly those people relying on it as a tool to provide for their families. We here on this forum think it's the best product on the market and are proud to be selling and owning such a fine product. -

Oh geez......I would love a cab chassis. Then the possibilities are endless....... -

Just wanted to post up a few pics. Customer needed to carry a third person. He chose the mounting location, wouldn't have been my first choice but it's what he wanted. Also what makes it unique is the fact that it's only one seat. Usually it's a bench with either two or three person capacity.

I do disagree with you on the cost but, in any event we will see soon enough with what it adds to the titan in terms of price. Also, I don't disagree that they are fundamentally different powerplants, however I do think they could go after the same customer, and to go a step futher that a cummins powered NV could make a compelling case to that customer, and or the chevy express w/6.6l diesel buyer. The fact of the matter to me is that the nissan is unique, it will probably be the only body on frame van left, meaning it will bar none be the most stout option in this country, in this segment. We already know Nissan is committed, it's almost assured we have an extended van coming. If Nissan can provide me with a diesel NV that can run 400-500k with original drivetrain under commercial conditions, and keep that option sub 6-7k, I KNOW I could sell the heck out of them. Servicing costs more for sprinter, but when I could walk a customer at any point in time to the back lot and know there would be a service truck back there with 350-600k on the original drivetrain that is one heck of selling point, despite the elevated costs. It wouldn't be right for everyone but it would provide me at the dealership level with more market coverage. -

You may find this suprising.......I am in Charlotte city limits so it's a more urban environment (though I"m nowhere near city center) I sell considerably more NV's than Titans. -

I'll disagree to some extent and tell you that I don't think it would be that narrow of an audience. Some examples... Many expediters drive 60,000 miles plus a year. The diesel would have an extended life cycle with that individual vs gas. There are a TON of expediters out there. Also, in Chicago where I was previously at much of the labor workforce and tradesman were immigrants to our country from European nations and have only worked on and serviced diesels, and are flat out more comfortable with them. They would never even consider gas. I do understand your point with potential costs like clogged dpf filters from bad gas and all those related issues but that did not curb sales for me ever when I was with sprinter. It was a constant steady increase in diesel sales year over year.....still is heading north to. Your only seeing more and more because they are starting to make ALOT more sense since the days of the smoking on start up diesels of old. Also, there's no way you'd have a spread like that. They would come in well under the sprinter and the sprinter starts at about 38k give or take. -
I couldn't agree more Chris....I was simply referencing the comment about the service dept doing their jobs. I don't know for sure but it sounds like they have done at least a reasonable job. When dealership level options have been exhausted you contact the factory as they are the judge and jury. There is not really much left they can do at the dealership other than say eating a repaint, which I don't think is very likely. He is however not out of options and I certainly think it's far away from resorting to the judicial process. In fact Mr Olaf and I have been corresponding because I feel I may be able to help. I guess too maybe I'm on the defensive a little with this too because I've my whole life done everything I can for people to make sure their experience at the dealership and with the product throughout it's life cycle is the best it can be. I have however had situations like this (not saying that Nissan is responsible or isn't doing the right thing, until it can be determined what caused this) that I have A) been powerless on and B) taken the criticism for not providing a remedy.

I would love love love to see a diesel option in the large NV and the NV200. Would be a pretty easy sell and a nice compliment to the lineup. -
I just want to say in reference to your service dept comment that with an issue like this a decision is not made at the dealership level, though it is usually dealership staff that are the proverbial "messenger." Wether or not his dealership did what they could I can't say because it wasn't myself or staff here that were involved, but they did at least follow proper protocol by reaching out to a factory rep. I would have done the exact same thing. Sorry to hear about the issues.

dustin, check these out for cheap super super bright lights. They make a spot and flood version.....you simply can't beat them. Warning though, the floods are bright and can't focus, they will blind everyone. Both are insanely bright. http://www.amazon.com/Off-road-Headlight-Driving-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B00G620ZVU/ref=sr_1_11?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1422042750&sr=1-11&keywords=18+watt+spot -
this is an interesting you point you brought up about the nav and the "service area". It is not something I previously thought about.

Basic Trac Lease Info

One time when I was trying to sell a vehicle we had started it and popped the engine compartment. He asked where the dipstick was and so as I bent over to show him my tie got caught in the serpentine......... ok no, not that interesting or life threatening. Just know the importance of branding myself. I've been in sales a long time. When I was younger I was very interested in the stock exchanges and saw how the traders dressed in order to stand out. While I can't wear zebra striped pants or a polka dot shirt the bow tie makes a lasting impression that people remember. Plus it doesn't hurt that the ladies like it ;) -
Countdown to arrival of 2013 NV 2500 SV V6
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Daydreamin520's topic in 2013
I hope it works out in the end......that is one problem with buying vehicles sight unseen. I've done it a few times off of ebay but I've always been real leery. Keep us updated with what you think :) -
Rick you're really pumped up, I get it. You obviously didn't have a thorough demo of the product and or research the tech package to know what you were getting. You should probably talk to whomever you bought it from and seek answers to that and explain your dismay so if for no other reason, maybe a policy change or education can be done at the dealership for the next consumer. I always tell people people about the features, explain thoroughly how it works, and give my honest opinion when asked. So as to your comment about the backup camera.....it has direct correlation to your evaluation of the tech package because it is part of it, and as I'll state again many of my customers want it simply for that. I'm not going to refuse sale of it or anything. If they know how it operates, they've demo'd it on the road, and they want it, I'll sell it. Heck, I have a locksmith going on his 3rd van we are selling him in the next few days. He won't buy one without tech. For him, he likes it. Furthermore, I can't tell you why it operates the way it does or why Nissan did or didn't do something, I can only show you how to use it, and voice my opinion like I did above. If I were to speculate I'd agree with what andy_george said. I can't really say anything more than that.

Hola Bama!! I'm sure you will be very happy if you end up purchasing one. I sell everyone I can get my hands on, it is a very easy sell to be quite honest. I'll say this about Ricks comments. I'm not as vehemently opposed to it as he is but for me it's kind of a toss up. I detest aftermarket backup camera's and enjoy the factory one. Though I'm used to commercial vehicles and am ok with no sight out the back and use of just sonar, for most of my customers it's a new idea and the rear camera is a must (despite the sonar system).

Hi....welcome to the forum. Good people here, small group but growing :) Do you own an NV or just considering one?

Basic Trac Lease Info
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Chris_CommercialManager's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Thank you Sir :) Just not enough people know about it. And, the demographic that knows the least could probably benefit the most, the small business owner...hvac tech, plumber, flooring, tradesman type guys. -
I did this quick vid for my company website. I could use some clicks :) but more importantly maybe some of you should be considering this route for your next purchase. I would purchase my own vehicle this way if I could.

NV Cargo owners, what made you choose?
Chris_CommercialManager replied to MrOlaf's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
You run snow tires? Should be just fine with them My sprinter operation was in chicago.....decent pair of snow tires and all our fed ex drivers and everyone did ok during winter, didn't really "need" 4 wheel drive at all
