Aluminess Cargo Rack and ladder
Chris_CommercialManager replied to ASD Dad's topic in Cargo, Hauling & Towing
If you have not had a rack before please keep in mind with one like that aluminess you will pick up wind noise. Just wanted you to know in case you didn't, that rack is not chump change. -
I'm not up to date but I believe propane conversion may carry a gov subsidy to help cover the cost. Might be worth investigating.

Again I suggest you give them a call. Those guys have an AWESOME product and equally fantastic customer service. They will guide in the right direction even if your just "investigating". I can't imagine they would not have a product for what you are looking to do. I have used them time and time again on my personal vehicles over the years and have nothing but great things to say.

I would have told you the exact same first step as van guy. Check your tire pressure and back off it's near the max. That will have an impact, maybe not as much as you want but it will help. Beyond that I'd say if you are prepared to spend some money, get yourself some adjustable shocks. Call Bilstein, they are second to none and very very helpful over the phone. They will have something for you I'm willing to bet.

The Fumoto Engine Oil Plug
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Jerry's topic in Nissan NV 4.0L Engine
That is awesome, I just ordered one, thank you for sharing!! -
Thank you to the poster, I appreciate your business and I'm very happy we will be able to do the build the way you wanted!! I worked with this wonderful family for several weeks. I've selected vendors and overseen many specialty conversions like this in the Sprinter world but this is my first with Nissan and was excited to be given an opportunity to help them. They had a very challenging situation. They wanted a side lift (as opposed to rear), but there were height restraints in the door opening. They have a wonderful child in an electric chair that was a inch or two taller (in the chair) than door opening. I met them for the first time at my dealership when they arranged to have a local company come out and do measurements to give an estimate for the build and check viability of their proposed plan. They had said side entry was not possible. I called my vendor out here that has done wonderful work and we met many more times with the family. After going through and re going through everything we got the green light on the side entry. The family is ecstatic and decided to use this vendor for the upfit. They took delivery of their brand new Black NVP SL last week. Equipment is about 4-6 weeks out, when it comes in it should just take a few days to install. My vendor does absolutely tremendous work and I know this build will be top notch. I will photograph and post up pictures of the build once it is completed. If anyone has questions please ask.

Olaf, I'd recommend trying to contact your dealer or another if you wish about the ding and paintwork. They likely have vendors on sight to get this done at a nice discount to what a body shop could. If you ride around a back lot where inventory is at you will probably even see where they are set up.

Never seen these in person but if anyone is interested I can vouch that Katzkin stuff is very nice in every example I've ever seen.

Cruise Control Question
Chris_CommercialManager replied to AugustKC's topic in Accessories & Modifications
You have a different ecm, throttle body, and harness per Nissan part numbers off of my factory parts programs. However, I have installed aftermarket with success many times with my one of my vendors. This should be a good starting point for you, contact them. If you end up doing it yourself it would be great if you keep this thread going and do a short how to for anyone else doing the same. :shift: Christopher -
Positive Nissan service experiences
Chris_CommercialManager replied to radin2son's topic in Maintenance
That is a very strange company policy not to take parts orders over the phone with cc and ship. We do it literally everyday. -
Those are awesome and super inexpensive, thanks for posting

Chris_CommercialManager replied to hawk259's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
Hola!! -
Welcome, NC is very well represented here. We have another commercial manager from our great state that will pop in to say hi I'm sure as well. We even have "bates" who is north of the border in Canada. This forum seems to just grow gradually with a few new members every week. We are still a small group but everyone is pretty active on here. Welcome!!

It's a GAS! - re: performance, endurance
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Daydreamin520's topic in Maintenance
When driving cross country I've run 85 a lot as well, never ever had an issue or noticed mileage differences I attribute to gas quality (I pen and paper my mileage at every fill up). -
It's a GAS! - re: performance, endurance
Chris_CommercialManager replied to Daydreamin520's topic in Maintenance
Speaking very generally you would want to run a higher octane to prevent knocking or pinging. I've never heard of either of these engines doing that with 87, even under extreme load. Two things that I am religous about (I can thank my father for this :) -Changing oil every 3000 miles -Running "lucas" fuel cleaner every 3000 miles (both of those are not mandatory but for me why fix what isn't broke) So if I were you? 87 with lucas every 3k. If it knocks you'll know it, but I highly doubt it. -
Camper van and travel trailer questions
Chris_CommercialManager replied to radin2son's topic in Lounge - Off Topic
what are you doing now.....electrical hook up? and if there isn't one a genny? I'd probably opt for a portable system with a long chord as long as you had a nice place to stow it. I've seen guys with them at campgrounds where it looks like a briefcase, they carry it out from the vehicle and set it up maybe 20 ft away. That would work great for you and solve your problem of parking in the shade and needing sun. I've done a full solar system on a cabin up in northern California that is off the grid and it works great, solar is totally feasible. You must, before doing anything else, figure out exactly your power needs are, so you can purchase a system that is a good fit. Also figuring in the duration the product will physically be in the sun. If you google "solar calculator" I'm sure you will bring up links with some digging to help establish what your demands are. I almost exclusively buy REI brand tents, very good quality. Never had a car shelter though, if that's what you're talking about. -
