  1. Beautiful area you live in. Have lived in Mission and Carlsbad. Where is this first road trip going to take you?
  2. Just buy some white vinyl and do it yourself if you want to give it a shot, no one will even see it. If there is a bubble or two so what, I think it would accomplish the same as paint.
  3. Call these guys to get pointed in the right direction. They work with the NV 200's http://drivelodge.co.uk/conversions/conversions.htm So are you basically looking for a window configuration like is in the NV200 Taxi??
  4. That is AWESOME! Congrats! I saw an interesting option in the gallery with a bed so to speak in front for toys. I don't believe I've ever seen that before.
  5. Table Rock is awesome fun because of Branson. Great bass fishing there! I'm familair with the chop out there at lake of the ozarks, every time I've been there it's jammed! I enjoy heading over to shooters 21.
  6. I posted this in another thread, you've probably seen it, if not here you go ;) . The gentleman who owns this van made it himself. I think it's pretty slick.
  7. I've built many crew vans. Bates already put up the link for freedman seats. I have only used them, they are go to in our industry. Factory seats would probably not be the best choice for several reasons. I use someone locally that does specialty upfits for people with disabilities, they have to mount seats in custom locations in virtually every vehicle they build so they are top notch. I definitely would not let just anyone do the work. In the Nissan world there no "factory approved up fitter lists" like you have with Benz and some others so be very careful with who does the work. I would not do it yourself for no other reason than liability should you get into an accident and someone gets hurt. I also advise you not go to standard van upfitter. Find a mobility vehicle shop, make some calls, check out some work and go from there. Expect to spend $1300-1700 to install a bench to carry an extra 3 people. The following is a plumber who literally used to have a 3rd guy riding on a bucket. That person now has a professionally installed seat with a 3 point belt. Cost was around $1400 if memory serves.
  8. Lake of the Ozarks is just awesome. I really want to take a trip there with my boat in the next few months.
  9. Fred, piece of advice. Availability on these vehicles is very poor, I believe Nissan was not expecting the demand and niche this vehicle has carved out. I commonly have to flatbed these vans in from several hundred and at times well over a thousand miles away to obtain the vehicle my customer is looking for. That situation is the norm and not the exception. I highly advise you to start looking 4 months out and place an order. That way you get what you want and don't incur the costs of transportation like so many do. All of my business customers do this, I WISH my retail one's did as well. It's a win win for you and the dealership.
  10. Are you looking to buy a vehicle around your trailer needs or are you buying a trailer around which vehicle you decide on? Only one vehicle even comes to mind to consider if you want to pull more than NV can and accommodate your family. From what you've said the NV sounds perfect. For a family of seven you are hard pressed to find a better vehicle to drive on a daily basis. I do believe you can also find a trailer that the the NV will be well suited to tow for a family of seven. However that is a matter of opinion coming from someone who only needs a tent when I do long road trips. Also I will say this. I would not think twice about crossing the rockies with a "full load" and a large trailer in the NV or pulling the long steep grades in the deserts of the western states under the same conditions with no more than exercising common sense when doing so. I don't know where you are but that's as tough as it gets for a tow vehicle.
  11. So what did you think of the fried pickels? To me it's the best part of moving to the south, haha. They are certainly hard to find on the West Coast.
  12. Funny you mention Canyonlands. I was just talking about that area yesterday with my girlfriend. One of the most beautiful spots we've ever stayed is in arches very close to there, a little no services campground called Hittle Bottom right off of the Colorado river. There is absolutely no service through almost that whole area, I LOVE IT :) The town of Moab is SO cool and I know the exact look on the faces that you mention. When we swapped stories when you were here at the dealership I told you I travel cross country in my Bronco. It is because of areas exactly like that. There are just so many beautiful trails to see off the beaten path.
  13. As you know I don't have the time to travel at the moment, I love looking at the pics of all your adventures. That looks like a nice wide path you were on. Can't scratch up the sides rubbing against bushes and things :)
  14. This may be another you are interested in seeing, check out the lower rear quadrant with the ghosting, ties in the subtle flame from the hood. This could be something more subtle that may work?? Whatever you do post it up!!
  15. I realize this isn't what your looking for but maybe it will spur some ideas. I've done a TON of graphics on these but never an NVP.
  16. Also one other piece of advice....The warranty on the wrap can be affected by the quality of the printer the shop has too. My understanding is that there are only certain one's that are 3m compliant and the shop must have one to get that warranty on the vertical surface.
  17. Jeez, I don't follow those diesel pick ups but I sure hope that isn't "normal". I know some guys swear by those trucks.
  18. That's interesting. You're going to wrap the top for protection from scratches? I'm curious, where are your catering events that you are considering that? Take some pics :) Also, didn't re-read your first post but I'm assuming you have a white van? A question that you may want to ask is on a vertical surface should you wrap with clear or white. On vertical surfaces 3M cuts the warranty on their product down dramatically because it takes so much more abuse from the elements. (Down to 2 years most likely on the film you would use). If it doesn't yellow, and I'm pretty sure it won't, a clear bra type film with no color to it may stay looking nice for a much longer period of time. Just a thought......
  19. Welcome! What sort of problems were you having with your truck? It does seem there are a lot of people experiencing problems with diesels these days. I know my Sprinters in Illinois were having a TON of problems from bad fuel quality, we would get clogged DPF's and all sorts of issues from it. Got so bad we had lists of gas station brands people should and shouldn't go to for fuel.
  20. Welcome! Production is currently maxed on the low roof and we simply can't get enough here on the dealership level. Before even thinking about adding a model they need to figure out how to keep up with current demand on the present model (they are adding a shift to ramp up production but I still don't know if that will be enough). If that's not reason enough there are also bigger fish to fry so to speak. Adding a cab chassis, an extended cargo version, etc. I would think money and man power would be diverted there first. Once again welcome, black NVP's are my favorite BTW.
  21. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but there was a very large Nissan gathering Thursday and Friday last week. I know my contacts were very busy and hard to get in touch with too.
  22. You guys are saving a lot of money on fuel vs towing a trailer on your travels. Given the choice I'd definately choose the route you guys took and get a nice set up I could sleep in as well.
