  1. No idea why this insists on quote, but there have been virtually no changes in the 10 year NV run, relative to your questions. Post the links to what you read as this would be helpful.
  2. In 2012, the tow package was an option that included tow mode, extendable mirrors, hitch etc. Do you have tow mode? Later years, this was standard with V8s. That said, I don’t recall any posts reporting a problem like yours.
  3. What are the conditions when and where this happens? Long, fast downhill roads? If that is the case it may be the abs, warped rotors or something going on with wheels and tires. Older posts may be helpful.
  4. It may take some work to find old, relevant posts but they are there. Good to see new people posting...
  5. Have you tried the Facebook side of this forum? Assuming it is still more active than this site.
  6. There are a few old posts about this. One invoked shorting out the radio. Mostly unresolved. Some thought it might be a problem with the windshield gasket and flaws in the opening.
  7. Just missed out on buying back the family home in Machias (1820 - 1982). Sold for somewhere over $130k over the asking price. Too pricey and too far away. Only reason I mention this is that I thought about the need to winterize our camper van and would it fit through the barn door. Or, would we sell it. Enjoy your NV.
  8. Everything on NVs is overbuilt for the worst conditions. Decision can be based on use. In my case, I had it done at a dealership. Needless looking back. Later, our independent mechanic smiled (probably laughing inside) said it couldn’t hurt.
  9. Sharp. Forgot how good blue NVs look or is it because I have never seen one on the road.
  10. Odd comment. Maybe he was talking about marketing. Only that would be a 10 year hiatus. See more everyday. Received a spring Osprey catalog and there is a photo of a high top NV, “cure for cabin fever.”
  11. conversiontrader.com had 2-3 hightop NVs for sale. Most if not all were V6s and completed diy projects. Worth a look. Plug in Nissan in the search link. Otherwise you will b scrolling through way too many Sprinters and ProMasters. Good luck with your search.
  12. Qv35, the best in class large van, according to vainstatics.com, will continue to be built for NVP owners who want a purpose built people carrier. Gone is the diesel, but all models will be hybrid and awd. New for 2022 will be the bespoke 4x4 version to be badged Datsun. Source: April Fuel
  13. I just threw away an unused, still rolled up plastic “carpet saver,” the type used in offices under chairs. This one was for a narrow, long space that I bought 10 years ago. Obscure plan to use it in our camper van, or was it outside? No idea if they still make them or how much damage they might inflict on you rear carpet. Cheap???
  14. Eurocampers.com sells ($90) a shade that fits reasonably well. Sags a bit but only an issue if you are stealth camping. They also sell side window shades. Our’s look more like the weather tech version but weren’t marketed as such. We have been using these for years.
  15. Had to laugh at your don’t call it a van.” Before and after Sportsmobile West (Fresno) decided to convert NVs to camper vans, the SMB forum (basically for Ford E series) went ballistic with “not a van” posts. They just couldn’t get over the hood. We bought one anyway and stopped posting there. (SMB built 30 to be sold at commercial dealerships.) In Sisters, OR someone asked if it was a Suburban. . That was way before 4x4 conversions and lifts were readily available. Your NV and others look far better than the old E Series, although at times, I have no idea what is beyond the long nose on a sharp rise and drop off on a narrow dirt road.
  16. That’s the point. No needless changes in almost a decade.
  17. Is this a quiz? Which one is the 2021? Oh, the rack... No cosmetic changes for the production run. The way a truck should be built.
  18. Not everyone had/has a problem with the rear ac and there are diy fixes. No one has mentioned taking their NV to an ac shop, however. You can add 4x4 at a later date. Only consequence appears to be shorter warranty. And then there is the loss of vehicle use for the duration of conversion. You may may want to PM newb in Maine for info on buying his Advanced 4x4 conversion.
  19. Different type of NV conversion on conversiontrader.com. 2012 NV high top 2500 “private limo-style van.” $39.5k with 51795 miles. 4 captain seats in back. Limited info but someone has installed rear seats...
  20. conversion trader.com has a 2013 NV 3500 SV, standard top cargo for sale. Converted in 2020. $51k. 100,000 miles. If you want a small, interior shower and 2 TVs...
  21. It’s a 2020. Why not have the dealer check and fix it? Assuming they can. At the very least you will establish a “warranty” record in case it is a recurring problem. Slightly different issue. When rear doors look closed but aren’t, the alarm won’t beep when locking the doors. The doors lock but your brain at some point will wonder why no beep. Usually when you are far away...
  22. Very little has gone wrong with these trucks/vans since 2012 when we bought ours. Parts and independent service shouldn’t be an issue in the future. Not it sure how Nissan will handle service and warranty work. It may work out that all dealerships are available. No new purchasers have posted what Nissan sales/service plans to do after the last 2021 is sold.
  23. Better buy one, new or used, soon! 2 potential issues: Will it fit in your garage? Does rear ac work? Blower? No Nissan fix.
  24. More and more are visible on the road. Suspect small businesses want a tough truck. No reason not to buy one if it meets your needs. A bigger issue, since it is a personal vehicle, will be rear seats if you need them. If that is the case, you may need to go with a Transit. Even though aztec may roll his eyes, dealer service may be an issue for you. Currently, only commercial dealers can service NVs. Hard to find in some states. With Transits, you just have to find a Ford dealership.
  25. Head south. You may have plenty of winter left. My side of the family is from Boston via Machias. We have been planning a return trip there for some time to include the Maritimes.
