If you do, lift kit options are limited to Advanced 4x4 Vans in SLC, UT and perhaps Quigley nearer you. There is a post/review of the Advanced kit that was shipped and installed. “2 inch lift” under Brakes, Chassis, Suspension.

You would think it would be a fuse, but the Titan forum says it is a problem with a broken wire (black). You have to remove the plastic around the steering column... A 2006 post shows the fix with photos and video. Best bet is to google Nissan Titan Forum auto to manual issue.

When we stopped by the Dublin CA dealership that sold us our SMB (picked up at the SMB facility) in 2012, the commercial manager said he lost sales because there was no extended version available. The Truck Trend article also pointed out that the NV is truck based.. Got that right. Mahu, It’s been year or so since you finished your conversion. How did it work out and were you able to use your NV as much as planned?

What happened to manners? I don’t mean trolls or very negative posts... Several times recently, I’ve wanted to post “Thank you” when the original post asks a question and gets an answer. Too busy to say this yourself? Really not interested in a response? “Likes” is another one. Use it if for no other reason to acknowledge the post...

Article in Truck Trend that the 2019 Ram ProMaster is attempting to improve its van in order to keep up with the refreshed 2019 Transit and MB. NV owners may say “So What!” Amazingly, the article also mentioned NVs in terms of best tow rating and price (1500 model). No mention of any cosmetic NV changes for 2019. Maybe Nissan got it right; cargo owners aren’t interested in this...

Opening rear windows???. Do they exist?
radin2son replied to Grace6400's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
They, Nissan, do not, but there are several manufacturers who do make opening rear windows, typically for the slider and behind driver’s seat. Check conversion posts. -
The record...quadruple post. Check ASD Dad’s review of his rack. You can find this under cargo, hauling and towing.

Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, San Jose CA. Article about affordable tiny homes on wheels plus a 1986 school bus that runs on cooking oil. The 3 vans below were described as Tiny homes...maybe. Campervans, more likely. Anyone on here own the NV?

6 cylinder motor not lasting? Wiring harness fire?
radin2son replied to Liveto99's topic in Nissan NV 2500HD
liveto99, only you can answer this. What vans did you use prior to NVs? Maintenance? Drivers? Use/load/route? Cost to own/lease? Compare and decide... There have been some mega mile V8 posts but none for the V6 in an NV. -
Welcome. You do need the space... If you haven’t seen the posts regarding the anemic rear ac, be sure to read them and check the ac before you drive it off the lot. Not every NVP has this problem. Enjoy your trip home. It’s a great ride. 2 other items: Black paint finish has been poor. Check it carefully. Not much you can do except document it and maybe get a better price. There also is a service bulletin (?) regarding a software (?) update for the new V8 and transmission. Check the numerous posts... It should have been taken care of.

Is this a diy project? We’ve seen many simple solar-gravity systems attached to all sorts of dirtbag vans. Tanks and pvc painted black with a hose hanging along the side of the van. You have sturdy rack mounts to work with. Solar heating shouldn’t be a problem in a beach parking lot. Check out various van life blogs as most diy conversions on this site avoid the issue of water and plumbing, particularly heating water. Solar bags excepted...

There are very few NV 200 owners on this forum. Unless you are extremely loyal to Nissan, why would convert a van when Transit Connect and possibly Ram already offer what you need. Unless, you want the taxi version... $30k

I wasn’t sure if the above post was for KMG. If so pm him. REI CO-OP Journal has another van dyi project. Fold down tables on the rear doors for cooking and prep. Go to rei.com and the menu to get to there.

Somehow after 6 years of production, Nissan missed all the “ Lookyloos.”

Can you locate another NVP to see if the ac blower works better? Preferably it would be on the lot of a commercial dealer and the service manager can compare both... There is nothing wrong with dumping a vehicle that doesn’t meet your needs or expectations. If the Transit does, go for it.

These V8s like moving forward on highways.

You’ve asked this several times. No one responded in part due to Nissan dealer parts department being able to answer this for you. Also any chain auto parts store could do the same. Or you can go to carid.com or just search for rear differential gear oil. Numerous brands are listed. Recommended service is 30k+ and cost is $100+. Nissan probabably would charge more. There also are numerous videos on how to do this. When you compile your list, post it.

Have you interacted with the dealer service manager? Area rep? Be a pain... Keep all paperwork of each visit. Each dealer will have this as well. Nissan Commercial will contact them to verify this, your documented claim history. (I had an emmisions repair come up not long after the 36k warranty expired. Since there was a documented history, Nissan Commercial reimbursed me. The dealer’s initial response was good luck with that.) Push to have it fixed and to reimburse you if charged to check a warranty issue. I read somewhere that Nissan parts have a life time warranty. Check the fine print on the blower and invoice. Regarding a good ac shop, contact an independent Nissan etc service shop to see who they recommend or have them do it. (Contact Nissan Commercial first.) I think car talk still has a list of recommended car service shops by city.) On you other post, PM the person who fixed the rear blower. They may no longer check this forum.

Last time I checked, there are 6 commercial dealerships in the Phoenix area. Surely, one is up to the task. If not get on the phone to Nissn Commercial... Complaining here doesn’t help get it fixed.

NV SMB compared to Transit and ProMaster SMBs
radin2son replied to radin2son's topic in Lounge - Off Topic
You would think the campervan conversion market would be too crowded, particularly the MB chassis, for a new entry, Beartooth Vanworks. Adventure journal has an article with photos. Only so many ways you can configure a hightop conversion. Sleeps 2 seems to be the norm. BV modular components are interesting, similar to buying from Ikea. Pricey. When will NVs get an extended version? Until it does, it won’t compete well in terms of interior space. -
In this situation where the rear ac works well for some and not for others plus the dealer indicates the “not so well or at all” is normal, Nissan Commercial needs to be called. If there are enough complaints, some action may be taken. Also, try another dealer if you have the luxury of one close by. Worse would be bad assembly line installation. If there are enough complaints and it is covered under warranty, Nissan may have to tear out the innards. If cleaning out the return vent works, then the benefits of this site are evident...

Notice from Nissan on NAV update question...
radin2son replied to Randucci's topic in Audio & Navigation
Our NV nav also is rarely used as in we don’t put in destinations. It is a cumbersome process and needs a specific street address, highway or road intersectiond to recognize where you want to go. Although we wish the map showed a larger area, it is useful if you generally know where you want to end up. The best use has always been getting through large cities, but by that time you have service and can use Apple or google maps. I don’t see any value in Sirius unless you already regularly use it for music etc. -
Notice from Nissan on NAV update question...
radin2son replied to Randucci's topic in Audio & Navigation
I am probably wrong about Sirius real time updates beyond traffic alerts. It has been a long time since I looked at their info. Well mostly wrong. Looked up their system and it appears it uses existing NV nav maps. Not sure how it does this, but it color codes your route for speed flow in major cities as well as shows accidents, construction and road closure. No separate maps. NV nav is more than good enough for us and supplements the paper road and recreation maps we already have. Nav shows and names all roads, even forest service roads to include campground loops. -
OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL Nissan parts that fit the NV
radin2son replied to fenderfatstrat6's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
At the 60k service, the service advisor added changing the cabin filter. He assumed all NVs had them. I didn’t pick up on this because cargo vans didn’t have them. The micro filter part number is 99M1-VP005. The part was $37.67. Labor was $46.95.
