LED Headlight update
Local Apparent Friday replied to exE350's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I would adjust your headlights and polish them. If they are clear and pointed correctly, then you should return the torchbeams and either ask for a different set or try something else. The torchbeams I have, I rarely even bother to turn the high beams on because the lows are perfectly bright, and I live out in the woods where I need to see furry little critters. -

I really like that color, don't know if I've seen another in the wild. -
Yah I'm familiar, having worked on wooden boats. Tough stuff to work with, from a tooling perspective! What size battery did you end up installing?

Torchbeams are great. We did full LED conversion as well, but purchased everything via amazon. Word of caution; if you swap the turn signals to LED, they will fast blink and there does not seem to be an easy way around it, as the relay is built in to the BCM. You can supposedly add resistors in-line on the lights themselves, but I cannot directly confirm.

Can the stock 130a alternator and v8 handle a 50a load?
Local Apparent Friday replied to JGAN's topic in Nissan NV 2500HD
250a alternators are readily available for these as well, for anyone that wants/needs the power. -
Ironwood, huh? That'll be nifty to see. Good luck on the build, looking forward to following along.

Engine knock and TSB warranty work
Local Apparent Friday replied to Jakerh22's topic in Nissan NV 5.6L Engine (2017+)
I did a full engine swap on mine without removing the trans, cooler, or radiator. If you read the service manual, they tell you to remove all that crap, but it's unnecessary. Any decent mechanic would have been able to do it without, thus cutting the work short whilst still being able to bill for the allowable hours.- 28 replies

New Owner: My Modification To-Do/Wish List
Local Apparent Friday replied to Zachary's topic in Accessories & Modifications
So I had a P3 on another vehicle...important to note that that controller wants to be mounted level and plum, unless they've updated it. This was an issue in the van that I had it in as there was no flat, level place to mount. For rear susp I went with sumosprings, very similar to what you linked. Easy to install. No contact when van is not loaded. For LEDs, I went with torchbeams on sale on amazon...ABSOLUTELY worth the upgrade for the $40 or so bucks For roof rack, there are lots of options...some dude drives around the country installing them and everybody that has purchased really likes. AmericanVan has a galvanized unit that is cheap. Avatar has one available if you have a kidney to sell. For fuel capacity, here is a thread where a guy had custom tanks built and linked the shop where you can order. No idea what cost was. Swapping stereos and keeping existing equipment is easy these days...crutchfield is a good one stop shop, albeit expensive. Good luck today! - laf- 4 replies

Yah they are not giving you much on the trade because the car market has fallen apart on the back end, they are just trying to squeeze as many sales as quickly as they can before consumers realize it, but they aren't going to be paying much because they know they'll lose out on anything they are holding very soon. If you have the time and patience, you'll do better with a private sale IF you are at a cash price or working with someone that is still willing/can still get financing. As for your choices, the 2019 has the 7 speed trans, BUT that engine is known to have issues so make sure you get a decent warranty. I'd be trying to get them to warranty it FOR 100k, not TO 100k. There's a couple posts here about ppl that have had to have nissan swap in a new engine and it's mostly been a nightmare. I corroborated that with facebook posts and the engine issues are common enough, whilst the level of difficulty in dealing with nissan varies. Most but not all I have seen have been under 100k though, so if you go that route, I'd try to negotiate them on the warranty if possible to stretch it out. As with anything, the engine replacement is not universal...there are many 17+ owners cruising around without issues. The '16 has the older engine but it's only a 5 speed...mileage ain't great either way so, all things equal, I'd buy the 4x4 and then go over the conversion to double check everything. 117k miles is, more or less, just getting broken in. Keep us posted either way and good luck. - laf -

Give me some site feedback
Local Apparent Friday replied to ASD Dad's topic in Nissan NV Forum, Feedback and Help
So. To my knowledge, the site doesn't currently allow an easy way to resize. You have to do it yourself either by manipulating the original image, manipulating the code itself, or by linking a thumbnail. Imgbb is one such place where you can upload your photo and then select "html thumbnail linked" from the embed codes, if you are not able to manipulate the code yourself. The "days won" metric is a measure of who received the most post likes in any given day. - laf -
Bumper sensors are typically not going to have a full 180 degree sensor angle. I don't know specifically the angle on the NV, but if you were to put the socket equidistant between two sensors, it should be great. That is where I would try to put the mockup that Crusty recommended.

@Zachary Welcome! Would that be Missouri, Virginia, or a different Springfield? What are the details on the one you're buying? They giving you a warranty? You mechanically inclined enough to go over it yourself? Sounds like it's a great fit for you guys. -
Answer as little questions as necessary with the dispatcher. Base year, make and model is enough for them to get a truck on the way. The guy in the truck isn't going to care, in 22 years of AAA membership, I have only had 1 driver that was in a AAA truck and not just a contractor. That being said, we have both AAA and Good Sam as well, but its because AAA RV wouldnt tow our bus because it has special requirements they can't meet.

2014 Roadtrek N6 Active on Nissan NV Chassis For Sale
Local Apparent Friday replied to NVAD's topic in Nissan NVs For Sale
Times are not normal. Saw a '19 on the lot today (regular high top cargo) with 73k miles as-is for 41 before TTT. On the plus side for buyers, everyone I know in the auction world is saying that the auto market has already crashed, consumers just don't realize it yet. Bad news for sellers though. I would think that this would be niche enough to continue to command a premium, though. Glws -

Three seats in front
Local Apparent Friday replied to Hijinx47's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Hey no problem at all. The console remove is pretty self explanatory, but the cup holder requires removing the glove box to get a single screw that holds the inner kick trim, to the left of where your ankle goes. Best of luck. -
NV 3500 Camper Conversion
Local Apparent Friday replied to blueridge's topic in <i>General Discussion</i>
Where'd you source the images? If you link, I might be able to trace it from that. Thanks Also where are you? Blueridge suggests relatively local to me. -
@Wild Wyoming is likely long gone @Hijinx47, but try facebook marketplace. Van seats can normally be found there reasonably priced. Best of luck and welcome to the forums. - laf
